Eighth
All India Bharat Ko Jano Competition was held at Fazilka
(Punjab) on the 10th-11th January, 2009. A record number of
40 Prants sent their teams for participation in this
Competition - Senior: 37 teams and Junior: 34 teams.

Seventh
All India Bharat Ko Jano Competition was held at Ludhiana (Punjab) on the 5th and 6th
January, 2008. A total of 74 teams (Junior: 36; Senior:
38) from 38 Prants participated which was was the highest
number of participating teams so far. |

This competition is a quiz
programme for the school children to increase their
awareness about the distinctive features of our country and
culture.
Before the Bharat Ko
Jano project was taken at the national level, this had
successfully been implemented U.P. West Prant for a number
of years. In the year 2000, it was decided to conduct this
programme on an experimental basis in all the eight
Prants of U.P. state. Encouraged by its success, it was
decided to adopt it as an all India Project.

From the year 2001-02 this competition is being held at
branch, state and national levels. This programme has
generated great interest among the students. Now
over 10 lakhs students from over 5,500 schools annually
participate in this programme.
During 2006-07,
record one lakh Bharat Ko Jano books were
distributed among the school students for this competition.

Anakapalle Central,
A.P. North & East :
On 13.12.2009 BKJ programme was conducted in training and development centre,
vizag steel plant, vizag in which branch sponsored students of Shri Gurajada
School, Kumari K. Indira and Mr. K. Chaitanya got state second prize in the
senior group. Branch President, Secretary, Treasurer and concerned chairman of
the BKJ participated in the state programme.

Jammu & Kashmir :
Organized Prant level quiz competition in which ten teams each in senior and
junior category participated. In the senior category the 1st, 2nd and third
positions were bagged by the teams of J.K. Public School Panj Tirthi, Vimal
Public School and Maharshi Vidya Mandir Sainik colony respectively while in
junior category the teams of Jagriti Niketan Kachichawni, K.C. Public School and
Govt. Middle School Guwahati were there in order of merit. The Chief Guest Prof.
Balbir Singh of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, appreciated the efforts of
BVP to infuse the spirit of Nationalism. The teams were presented mementos and
certificates of appreciation.
Dharwad, Karnataka
North :
Branch participated in the quiz competition conducted at state level on
08.11.2009. The senior team students from Rajasthan Vidya Kendra Dharwad bagged
the first prize.
Pilani, Rajasthan
North & East :
BKJ Pratiyogita was held for the first time on 18.10.2009. The branch is a new
branch in North & East Rajasthan. First round of the competition was conducted
in nine schools in which about 550 students appeared in senior and junior
categories. The next round, a quiz, was held on 19.11.2009 at Saboo College of
Commerce and was moderated by Dr. Mahla of Saboo College. Famous poet Shri
Nagraj Sharma was the chief guest. Dr. P.P. Gupta Principal presided over the
function. Dr. R.P. Pareek, guest of honor along with the District coordinator
Shri J.P. Soni graced the function. The chief guest distributed the prizes and
certificates. Shri Nagaraj appreciated the efforts of the branch while receiving
the memento from Dr. Pareek. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Motilal Dash,
the programme co-coordinator.

Punjab East :
State level Bharat Ko Jano competition was held on 25th October, 2009 at Ropar.
Written test was conducted at branch level on different dates. 11840 students
from 148 schools participated in these tests. At state level both in senior and
junior groups 16 students participated. The team of Shri Suraj Kumar
Sarvahitkari Vidya Mandir School Sunam, District Sangrur stood first in junior
level and team of Holy Family Convent School Ropar stood first in senior level.
Bareta, Punjab
South :
BKJ competition was conducted at the school level in Sixteen different schools.
632 students (332 in Junior group and 300 in the Senior group) took part in the
competition held on 5 November 2009. 45 students in Junior and 28 in Senior
group appeared at branch level which competition was held on 8.11. 2009 in the
premises of Sh. Atma Ram Public School. Cheshta of green level day Boarding
Public School bagged 1st position in Junior and Ankur Garg of the same school
2nd position in the senior group.
Shahpurkandi
Township, Punjab North :
BKJ school level written Test was held on 5th October in 9 schools. 204 students
of junior level and 197 of senior level participated in the competition. On
09-10-2009 branch level competition was organised at Shri Ram Vidya Mandir,
Baroi. 30 students of 9 schools selected during written test participated in the
quiz competition. In Junior wing Bhawana Pathania of Shri Ram Vidya Mandir Baroi
and in senior wing Manjit Kumar of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Madhopur were the
winners.
Karnataka North :
State level BKJ quiz competition was held on 8th October 2009 at IMA hall
Belgaum under the auspices of Belgaum branch. Zonal Organizing Secretary Shri
Hemant Deshpande inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. State General
Secretary Shri Pandurang Nayak welcomed the guests. 5 teams participated in the
competition. Dr. V.B. Yelburgi the convenor of the event was the quiz master. A
visual round was introduced in the competition for the first time this year. Smt.
Vasundhara Yelburji and Dr. Mrs. Abha Kulkarni were the masters of the ceremony.
Shri B.N. Patil was the chief guest. Rastrothana Vidyakendra of Dharwad won the
first prize in senior category and Narmadadevi School of Hospet won the first
prize in the Junior category.

Karnataka South :
Branch conducted BKJ at RNS Vidyanikethan Bangalore. The event was inaugurated
by Shri Jayarama Shetty. Principal, Shri K.V. Narahari introduced the Chief
Guest and Shri B.V. Rao, President spoke about the importance of the event. 44
students from 14 schools participated in the quiz ably conducted by the convenor
Shri S.V. Nagaraj. Prizes were distributed by Chief Guest Shri Ranganath, Asst.
Education Officer, Govt. of Karnataka and Shri A.S. Nataraj, zonal secretary.
Florence High School, Basaveshwarnagar, Bangalore bagged the first prize in
senior category, and RNS Vidyanikethan in Juinor category.
Dharwad,
Karnataka North :
Branch organised BKJ questionnaire competition on 13.09.2009 at Mallasajjan High
School, Maratha colony. Shri Vidyapathi Havanur conducted the programme while
Shri L.S. Desai, inaugurated the programme. Shri. V.S. Hiremath was the chief
guest and it was presided over by Shri R.B. Dhongade.
Dhubri, Assam
West :
The state level BKJ quiz competition was held at District library auditorium on
1st Nov, 2009. Shri Deepak Kumar Barthakur, National Vice President was the
inaugurator and chief guest of the inaugural session. Mrs. Indira Barthakur
presided over the inaugural session. Altogether 23 teams from different parts of
the state participated in the competition. In the senior group teams from DPS
Dhaligaon, S.P. English Medium School, Dhubri and Srimanta Sankardev Academy,
Guwahati got the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. In the Junior group teams
from Don Bosco, panbazar, Guwahati, Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Kalipur, Guwahati and
S.P. English Medium School, Dhubri got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.

Patan, Gujarat :
Branch organised Bharat Ko Jano exam with the main aim to provide general
knowledge regarding Indian Culture & Sanskar. In this exam 1598 students of
thirty different schools actively participated. 739 students of Primary school &
859 students of higher secondary school sat for exam on 23rd August 2009.
Rajubhai Thakker Coordinator & all members of branch worked for its success.
Karimganj, Assam :
Branch organised branch level Bharat Ko Jano quiz competition on 6th September,
2009 at Karimganj college auditorium Altogether 12 teams participated in the
competition held in two groups junior and senior. The progamme was inaugurated
by hon'ble District & Session Judge Justice Prasanta Kumar Choudhury. Baby Land
English School, Karimganj bagged 1st prize. Saraswati Vidya Niketan and Tagore
school of studies, badarpur won the 2nd prize and the 3rd prize respectively.
The entire programme was sponsored by our member Shri Prasanta Kumar Choudhury
in memory of his beloved brother late Niranjan Choudhury.

Delhi
South :
Bharat Ko Jano written competition was held in 5 schools where 365 students
participated from 5th to 11th Sept. in various schools.
Janakpuri (Main)
: BKJ was
held in 3 schools amongst 600 junior & 500 senior students.
Navi Mumbai,
Maharashtra :
Organized BKJ on 13th September 2009 in modern school. 15 schools participated.
Some of the schools have English as well as Hindi as medium of instruction. So
those schools sent two teams for each category (Junior). Results are as follows:
Riyan International, Father Agnel Juniors Senior, DAV Public school, Sainath
High School (Senior). Trophies were distributed immediately after the results
were out. A large number of parents, teachers were present to cheer up the
children.
Chandrasekhar,
Bhubaneswar, Orissa :
The Bharat Ko Jano
competition was conducted on 12 September 2009 at SSVM, NV, Bhubaneswar. Teams
from 12 schools came of which 6 were selected after a screening test. The
convener Smt. Saudamini Nayak read out the rules and regulations of the
competition. Dr. Manoranjan Das, was the quiz master. The 1st prize was won by
DAV Public School, Kalinganagar.
Bhubaneswar Main :
The
branch conducted BKJ quiz competitions in Junior and Senior categories among
teams from 6 and 7 schools respectively. Smt. Geeta President and Smt.
Shakuntala BKJ Convener conducted the junior and senior level quiz respectively
on 11.10.09. Bharati Vidya Mandir won the junior level and DAV Public School won
the senior level competition.
Bhubaneswar North :
The
branch held its BKJ written examination on 11th Oct. 09 by inviting teams from
11 schools in which 34 students participated. In the valedictory function the
chief guest Prof K.C. Das, a respected 90 year old educationist distributed the
prizes. He inspired everybody with his words besides his exemplary fitness and
active life.
Bhubaneswar Vistar:
On 18th
Oct. branch conducted a unique "vistar" programe inJagatsing pur town, the head
quarter of district bearing same name, which has no BVP branch. Inspired by
Prant President Sri L.K. Mohanty, the branch conducted a mega health camp and
BKJ competition among school students. Situated 55 kms from the state capital
deep inside Mahanadi delta, the town is hub of agriculture and holds good
prospect for BVP activity. The BKJ test attracted intense attention of a good
number of students and teachers and the invitees to the valedictory function
were prospective BVP members.
Lucknow, Avadh
Goraksh :
On 22.08.09 branch organised Bharat Ko Jano written tests in about 8 schools
comprising of more than 1000 children; Branch distributed 400 boots amongst the
students.

Goalpara, Assam West :
Branch organized BKJ quiz competition on 06.09.09 at College auditorium. Twenty
students from different educational institutions from greater Goalpara region
participated in the quiz. The competition was held in two group's. The Junior
Group from class VI to VIII & senior Group from IX to XII. Sri Gokul Dev Goswami,
Sri Dhananjay Das, Sri Jayanta Medhi and Sri Mantu Das conducted the quiz. 1st
Prize in the Junior group was won by Sri Praloy Barman & Sri Aman Kumar from
Sainik School, and in senior group 1st prize was won by Sri Abinash Kumar
Upadhyay & Sri Abhisek Kumar from Sainik School.
Karimganj, Assam :
Branch organized BKJ quiz competition written test at Nabin Chandra college at
Badarpur for the students of this locality. Altogether 402 students form various
Educational institutions participated in the written test. Out of which 221
students appeared from junior group & 181 students from senior group.

: In
BKJ competition conducted by Prant 77 schools with 1300
students participated. CVRM High School from Shri Krishna
Devaraya Shakha Ananthapur stood first both in senior and
junior groups.
Karnataka
South
:
Prant level BKJ quiz competition was organized on 9th
November, 08 at Bapuji Sabhangana, Devanagare. Gauthama
Shakha, Davanagare was the host branch. Shri P.R. Ananda Rao,
National Convener, Vistar Karya and Shri P.K.Rao well known
educationist from Harihar inaugurated the programme by
lighting the traditional lamp. Dr. Srishaila M. Byadagi,
President, Gauthama Shakha, Devanagare presided over the
function. More than 1000 people including students,
teachers, parents, members of the Parishad and guests
witnessed the programme. 12 junior teams and 13 senior teams
from different parts of Karnataka participated in the
competition. Kumari Nidhi Sangli & Shri P.M. Prabhanjan of
Carmel School, Padmanabha Nagar, Bangalore got first prize.

Punjab South
:
Branch organized a school level and branch level BKJ
competition on 12.11.08 and 16.11.08 respectively. In the
school level competition 300 students of 16 schools in the
junior and senior groups participated.

Punjab East
:
Branch organized BKJ competition in which about 1000
students from 10 different schools participated in written
test.

Delhi North: (A) At Branch level :
4800 students of 30 schools comprising ten branches in the month of October and
November, 2008. (B) At State level : This competition was organized on 21-12-2008 at Nav Bharati
Public School Deepali, Pitampura, Delhi. 125 schools of 10 branches participated
in this competition. After written examination and oral quiz competition,
following teams were declared as winners and qualified to participate at
National Level: Junior and Senior group RPVV, BT Block, Shalimar Bagh.
On this occasion Smt. Usha Gupta (MC), Sh.
Mahesh Chand Sharma (Chief Patron), Sh. B.M. Bhandari (Chief Advisor) Sh. Mahesh
Sharma, Zonal Secretary, Zone-II were the guests of honour. All office bearers
of Delhi North were present in this function.
Woolen sweaters to 18 Tribal students from
North-East Region were also donated by Saraswati Vihar Branch on this occasion.
Gajuwaka, A.P. North-East : State
level BKJ quiz competition was completed on November30, 2008. The competition
was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. S.R. Mallikarjuna Rao, Dy. General Manager,
Visakhapatanam. The session was presided over by Mr. P.V.S. Krishna Rao, State
Vice President. The chief guest expressed the view that Bharat Vikas Parishad
had been making tremendous efforts to uphold the rich cultural heritage of our
great country. He called upon the students to make use of such quiz programmes
for their own betterment, besides the broad social interest. 6 teams in junior
category and 9 in senior category participated in the competitions. The
competitions were held by using LCD projector, with question & answers displayed
on screen, with round to round scores indicated on a score board. The necessary
assistance was extended by Mr. S.Srinivas Rao, Asst. Manager, Steel Plants and
Mr. G.V.Gopal, branch Treasurer. The result : 1st Aditya Public School, 2nd Sri
Prakash Vidya Niketan and 3rd NNT Public School Rajahmundry.
The highlight of the competition was that
the special guest of the Valedictory session Mr. Mohd. Khan, Assistant
Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatanam (South) was present through the entire
duration and was greatly impressed by the programme and the system of its
conduct.
The Valedictory session was presided over by
Mr. PVS Krishna Rao, State General Secretary in the presence of Mr. G.V. Prasad,
Executive Director (HRM), Visakhapatanam Steel Plants as chief guest and Mr.
Mohd. Khan, Assistant Commissioner of Police as a special guest. The chief guest
emphasized that the ethics & values of our great country are followed throughout
the globe and it becomes the bounden duty of every Indian citizen to make
sincere efforts to safeguard our own culture. He assured that all possible
assistance will be extended from the side of Visakhapatnam Steel Plants, for
such social causes.
Addressing the session Mr. Mohd. Khan ACP
advised the student community to make use of such programmes not only to enrich
themselves with general knowledge for their own betterment, but keeping the
large national interest.
Mr. PVS Krishna Rao, President appreciated
the efforts of the host branch Gajuwaka for holding the State level BKJ
successfully. Chief guest and special guest presented
mementoes and certificates to the winners in both senior & junior category.
Amdavad, Gujarat Central : Branch organized
State level quiz competitom of BKJ on 30-11-2008 at Amdavad.
5 teams participated both in junior and
senior groups. In junior level Paldi-Amdavad team stood first and in senior
level Sawastna team stood first. Shri Surendrabhai Patel, Hon. MRPCS was the
chief guest.
Jammu West, J&K : Branch organized
BKJ quiz competition at Govt Girls Hr. Sec. School on 15th Nov., 2008 presided
over by Prof. Satish Anand, National Secretary Praudh Sanskar. The chief guest
was Mrs. Shashi Prabha Thapa, the Principal of the Institution.
Chief guest highly appreciated the different
activities undertaken by Parishad and stressed upon the need for such like
activities to be taken up more vehemently in all the educational institutions
because the youth is more inclined towards western civilization. Memento was
presented to Mrs. Shashi Prabha Thapa the Principal of Govt. Hr. Sec. School
which were the winners in both categories.
Janakpuri Main, Delhi South : Branch
organised BKJ on14th November, 2008 in Lawrence Public School. 100 students
participated in the quiz contents. It was inaugurated by Shri J.C. Jhamb an
eminent Educationist. Master Sharad Sharma & Master Ankit Talwar of Class-XI
were ranked 1st & 2nd respectively.
Goa : In branch level BKJ competition 27
schools participated from 5 branches. 52 students took part..
At Prant level 5 schools participated with
ten students. Team of Saraswati Vidyalaya Mhapsa stood first in senior group
while Shri Shantadurga High School Bidholin were winners at junior level.

Vidyaranya, Karnataka South : Branch conducted BKJ programme at the
branch level on 2nd Nov.,08 in the premises of BUNTS' Shangha Vidya Nikethana.
12 senior teams and 9 junior teams participated. Sri N. Doulath Rao, National
Additional Secretary General inaugurated the programme. First in junior team was
from Florence High School, Basaveshwara Nagar, Bangalore, and 2nd in senior team
was from BUNTS Sangha Vidya Nikethan, Vijayanagar, Bangalore.
The teams from Florence School
participated in the Prant level competition held on 09.11.2008 at Davanagere and
got 3rd prize.
Shahpurkandi, Punjab North
: BKJ (a) School level written competition was held on 16.10.08. 185 students in
junior and 100 students in senior categories participated.
Khanna : Branch organized
branch level BKJ on 4.11.2008 in which 980 students from 12 different schools of
the city and nearby village took part in both senior and junior level
competition. Lala Sarkaru Mall Sarvhitkari Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School stood
1st in senior and Radha Vatika Sr. Sec.School Khanna stood in junior level.
Sirhind, , Punjab East :
The State level B.K.J. quiz competition was organized by Sirhind branch on
23rd November, 08 at Lions Community Hall, Sirhind. A total of 17 teams
participated in the event (9 senior & 8 junior) Shri Rakesh Sehgal, President
Punjab East & Shri Harinder Gupta General Secretary Punjab East presided over
the function. Renowned social worker S. Amritpal Singh (Raju) graced the
occasion as chief guest & donated Rs. 2100/-, Sh. Vinay Kumar & Kailash Kumar of
Govt. Model High School, Sector-20-D, Chandigarh were declared winners in junior
wing & Priyanka & Neha of Shri Suraj Kund Sarva Hitkari Vidya Mandir Sunam were
winners from senior teams.
Sirhind : Branch level BKJ
was organized on 5th and 19th October, 2008 at Govt. Girls Sr.Sec. School, and
Lion's Community Hall Sirhind respectively. 650 students from ten Schools
participated. The team of Govt. Girl Sr. Sec. School Sirhind Mandi (Fatehgarh
Sahib) stood first in senior group and Saffron City Sr. Sec. School in Junior
group.
Samana Mandi : Bharat Ko
Jano written test was organized by branch at Public Sr. Sec. School on 2.11.2008.
390 students from 11 schools participated in this test in senior & junior
groups. The quiz competition was held on 9.11.2008 at S.D Model School, Samana.
Goalpara, Assam :
Organized BKJ competition on 14th Sep,08 at Central Girls H.E.School, Sri
Sankardev Sishuniketan & Sainik School Goalpara were the winners in the senior &
junior groups respectively.
Birjhora : On 06.09.2008
branch organized BKJ competition at Birjhora Higher Secondary School, Bongaigaon.
The competition was inaugurated by Sri Pulin Choudhary, Principal of the
school.Sri Swadesh Ranjan Goswami, Secretary State also attended the programme.
10 groups were selected for the oral round. In senior category Birjhora
H.S.School & in junior category Sh. Sankardev Vidya Niketan were the winners.
Silchar : Branch organized
BKJ on 21st Sept., 08 at Narsingh Higher Secondary School, wherein approximately
200 students from 15 different schools participated. The top scorer in junior
group was Nilima Rao, of Govt. Girls Higher Secondray School and in senior group
Ramal Chakraborty, of Pranabanda Vidya Mandir.
Gajuwaka, A.P.North-East :
Branch conducted BKJ competition on 25.10.2008 at Vijnana Bharati School. 17
teams participated in the competition. The competition was inaugurated by the
Municipal Corporator Sri A.J.Stalin.
Chaitanya Public School stood 1st
in senior group while A.V.K. High School bagged 1st prize in junior group.
Greater Kailash-I, Delhi South
: Branch organized BKJ competition on 25th October, 2008 in 4 schools. 450
students took the test.
Lucknow Poorvi, Awadh Goraksh
: Branch organised the BKJ competition on 2-11-2008 at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School,
Lucknow. Seven Teams in senior and six teams in junior group participated. Shri
P.Arvindakshan, Principal, Jaipuria School was the chief guest and Colonel
Y.R.Sharma was special guest on this occasion.
Thermal Bokaro, Jharkhand
: Branch organized BKJ-2008 branch level inter school quiz on 25.10.2008 at
Station Club BTPS. The programme was inaugurated by the C.E. & Project Head Mr.
A.N. Mishra. 11 junior level teams and 9 senior level of 13 schools participated.
The quiz was conducted by the Supd. Engr. Mr. A. Dutta. Earlier about 1381
students participated in the school level programme.
Odissa : State level
BKJ quiz among 13 top teams from Odissa branches was held at Bhubaneswar on 2nd
November, 2008. There were 7 senior and 6 junior category teams. Red-Cross
Bhawan was packed with BVP members, elite guests, parents and media to wintess
this unique event. A special section of questions relating to art, culture and
history of Odisha were added to the main bulk of quiz on Bharat by the famous
quizmaster Prof. Dr. Sanjay Satpathy who engrossed both the competitors and the
audience with his witty conduct of the quiz.

Chahncellor of Utkal University and chief guest inspired the young.
Bhubaneswar Main : Branch
was the first in conducting "Bharat Ko Jano" written competitions both in senior
and junior categories on two days. followed by quiz on 21.9.08. Nine schools
with 47 students participated. Smt. Bijaya Mishra, the Convener made special
efforts to secure maximum participation and help to discover best talents for
the state level competitions.

Branch organised branch level BKJ competition on 28th Sept. 2008 at Karimganj
College Auditorium. St. Josephs High School, Badarpur became the champions in
both the junior & senior groups. In junior group, the 2nd & 3rd prizes went to
Rowlands Memorial High School, & Kendriya Vidyalaya, respectively. In senior
group the 2nd & 3rd prizes were bagged by N.C. College, Badarpur & Saraswati
Vidya Niketan, Karimganj respectively.
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh:
Branch organised branch level Quiz Competition Bharat Ko Jano 2008 on Sept. 14,
2008 in the Kalibari Hall, Shimla. Dr. Rajesh K. Rana acted as the quizmaster.
Nine schools of Shimla and its nearby areas participated in this competition and
the winners were as follows:
First prize: Dayanand Public School,The Mall, Shimla,
Second Prize: DAV Public

Solan, Himachal Pradesh : Bharat Ko
Jano Inter school quiz
contest was organized on 24 Aug., 08
in the SCERT Solan campus. As
many as twelve schools participated.
Schools were chosen from an
area of 20 km radius or so. Dayanand
Adarsh Vidyalaya, were the winners
and Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Oachghatt
were the runners up. It was followed
by lunch. Ms. Shashi Sharma, Officer
on Special Duty, Directorate of
Education, Shimla was the chief
guest. Dr. V.K. Rai, Prof. Upendra
Nath
and their team were the organizers.

Competition of BKJ was held on 8th Dec. 07 at Govt. Hr.
Secondary School (Boys) Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Smt Girija Kaw,
Principal of the School was the Chief Guest. Sixteen teams
of 6 branches competed. Jagriti Niketan School, Kachi howni,
Jammu stood First at senior level while Shanti Saroop
Memorial Public School, Jammu stood First in Junior Level.
Jammu West :
Branch organised BKJ quiz competition at Shanti Swaroop
Memorial Jummu public hr. sec. school, Patoli, Jammu on 4th
of Oct. 07. The function was resided over by K. Gupta, Ex.
Secretary Board of Secondary education, The chief guest was
Ms. Kusum Bhatia, Managing Director & Principal of SSJP Hr.
sec. school, Patoli. The quiz was conducted by prof. N.K.
Sehgal, Vice President Jammu State BVP. Ms. Kusum Bhatia,
Chief Guest highly appreciated the different activities
undertaken by Parishad and stressed upon such like
activities to be taken up more vehemently in all the
educational institutions because the youth is more inclined
towards western civilization. Indian ulture and traditions
are very rich of high moral values and should be imparted
among the students. She assured whole hearted support in all
such activities and would provide full co-operation in
future also. Shanti Swaroop Memorial Jammu Public Hr. Sec.
School, Patoli stood first in junior wing and Vimal Public
school, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu in senior wing.
Karnataka (South):
Prant conducted BKJ Competition on 18th November
07. 13 Teams is Junior level and 14 Teams in Senior category
participated. Sister Nivedita School, Bangalore stood first
both in Junior and Senior category.
Delhi (South):
State level competition was held on 19-11-07 at Columbia
Foundation Senior Secondary School, Vikaspuri, New Delhi, in
which 16 schools participated. Columbia Foundation Sr. Sec.
School, stood 1st both in junior and senior categories. Shri
D.N. Grover, National Secretary (Vanvasi Sahayata Yojana)
was the Chief Guest presided over Shri R.C. Puri, president
Delhi State (South).
Maharashtra-I :
Organized inter branch BKJ quiz competition on 2nd December
2007 at GCC Air Conditioned Hall at Bhayander, Mumbai. Seven
teams in junior category and eight teams in Senior category
participated in this quiz competition. Teams from St. Mary
High School, Malad representing Malad West branch were
winners in both Junior and Senior catagories. Shri
R.P.Sharma, National Working President graced the occasion
as Chief guest. Shri Om Prakash Gadodia, Corporater, Shri
Stephen Mendoncea- Deputy Mayor of Mira- Bhayander Nagar
Palika, Mr. Narendra Mehta and Dr. Niranjan Agarwal were
guests of Honour.
Maharashtra -II :
State level "Bharat Ko Jano" competition was held on 16th
Dec. 07 at Pune. New English School, Satara stood Ist in
Junior Group and Maharani Laxmibai Military Training School
for girls got Ist prize in senior group. Hon. Jan Sadaviji (guruma)
handed over the Memento and prizes.
A.P. (North & East)
: Conducted Bharat Ko Jano, State level quiz
competitions at Tuni on 8-12-07 Sri K.B. Rama Rao, Zonal
Organising Secretary inaugurated the competitions. K.J.A.
High School, Anakapalli stood first in Juniors and Aditya
Public School, Kakinada stood first in seniors. Sri
Yendamoori Veerendranath, India's famous psychologist was
the guest of honour. Sri M.V. Gopal Krishna, Assistant
Director gave away the prizes. Tuni Branch hosted the
competition.
Vivekananda Shakha (A.P.West)
: Branch conducted BKJ written test in 7 schools on
December 10th 2007. 9 senior teams. & 8 Junior teams from 7
schools paticipated. St. Alphamas high School, Maruthi Nagar
stood first in Senior wing. Dr. S.Rama Krishan Garu Rtd
Director of Geological Survey of India, was the Chief Guest.
