Navi MumbaiVashi (Maharastra-1): BKJ competition was conducted successfully at Modern School, Vashi on 28th September. 15 schools participated in this quiz competition in junior category (6 to 8th Std.) and Senior Category ( 9 to 12th Std.), 120 students participated in this Quiz Competition. Each school was represented by the best four students, who were selected by school authority with the help of written test, conduced at their school premises. Question paper for this purpose was also supplied by BVP.

The quiz program was conducted by Shri Ramesh Kumar Modi, Dr. Ziley Singh Chaudhary and Shri Rupani. The selected eight teams were asked questions in three rounds (1) direct questions round (2) direct question round with pass on facility and (3) Rapid fire round. From this preliminary quiz, top four scoring teams were selected for final quiz competition.

In final quiz, all four teams in each category, had to face extra four rounds of (1) visual and (2) audio(3) Buzzer and (4) Answer by clue round, in addition to above three rounds, as asked in preliminary quiz. The first winner in junior category is Amrita Vidyalam, Sector 8, Sanpada.

The second and third runners up for Senior Category are Sainath Hindi School, Sector-10A, Vashi and North Point School, Koperkhairane respectively. The second and third runners up for junior category are St. Mary’s Multipurpose High School, Sector 10A, Vashi and ICL High School, Sector-15, Vashi respectively. Trophies were distributed by senior members Dr. Upadhayaya / Shri K.M. Thacker and Smt. Gokhale.

Palanpur (North Gujarat): BKJ was organized on 28th September where in 50 students of 25 schools had taken part. Out of which first of Two Primary Division declared as Prize winners.

Convener Mr. Kapesh Raval, Quiz Master.Mrs. Bhavna Raval, Assistant quiz master Girdharilal Gehani and Scorer Vishvesh Joshi have done good work in conducting three quiz.

These quiz on Indian Culture, History and Knowledge became phrase among students, Teachers and Parents.

Malaprabha Branch (Karnataka South): Branch in association with Lions Club of Dharwad conducted BKJ competitions in Dharwad Art Gallery recently. The Chief Guest of the event Shri B.G.Nadakatti, retired Principal of Karnataka Science College, Dharwad, stated that such competition will help the students to know about the Indian Art & Culture. Sri Ramachandra Dhongade, well known businessman presided over the function and encouraged the students to participate in such events in large number. 60 students from different groups participated in the competition. Quiz Master Sri Uday Revankar conducted Quiz for English Medium and Smt.V.N.Keertivati for Kannada Medium.

Rajat Kalal & Siddanagouda Patil of Rashtrotthan Vidya Kendra of Dharwad were selected for State Level in Senior Division English Medium. Charuhas Gumaste & Srishti Kandgal of Basel Mission English Medium School, Dharwad was selected for State Level in Junior Division English Medium School (Senior Division) and Neelamma byagodi and Shainaj Pathan of Govt. Higher Primary School, Kelageri were selected for State Level.

Karimganj (Assam): Branch organized BKJ quiz competition on 14th September at Karimganj College Auditorium, Karimganj. Branch President Shri Nikhil Ranjan Das inaugurated the competition. 5 teams participated in the Junior Group while 4 teams participated in the Senior Group. In the Junior Group, Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Karnamadhu became the champion team while Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Karimganj and Central Public School, Badarpur bagged the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. In the Senior Group, Karimganj College became the champion team while Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Karimganj and Tara Bhusan Paul Junior College bagged 2nd and 3rd prize respectively, the prizes were sponsored by Shri Gautam Das in memory of his beloved father Late Arun Kumar Das.  

Jammu West (Jammu & Kashmir): Branch conducted BKJ quiz competition at Ved Mandir, Jammu in which 20 student from 10 schools participated. Dr. Goutam Mengi was the chief guest. President of the branch threw light on the importance of programme. Dr. Mengi said that knowledge about our history and culture is utmost important and BVP gives a platform to our younger generation to show their talent in this field. Team of KC International stood first, student from Bright Candle and Vaid Mandir School captured 2nd and 3rd position.

Shahpurkandi, Punjab North : Branch conducted BKJ at Govt. Sr. Sec. School under the chairmanship of Rakesh Mahajan Br. President. 36 students of 10 Schools participated at junior & senior level quiz competition. The Jyoti was lit by S.K.Gurnal S.E.RSD Project Shahpurkandi Township and Sh. K.K.Mahajan Add. Sec. (Vistar) of Prant was spl. invitee. Before this competition 850 students participated in written test conducted at School level. Sh. Subhash Bhatt conducted the quiz. In junior wing Prem Jyoti Model School bagged 1st position. Shri Ram Vidya Mandir Baroi 1st position at Sr. level. Chief Guest Dipanshu Ghai distributed the prizes. Both Jr. & Sr. top teams participated at State level quiz contest held at RD Khosla DAV Public School Batala on 1.12.2013.

Gandhi Nagar, Jammu & Kashmir : Branch organised BKJ quiz competition at KV No1.10 schools participated. The Principal of school Smt. Romi Amrit was a guest while Dr. B.C. Dwivedi was guest of honour. The result : 1st KV No. 2 School, Jammu Cantt., 2nd KV No. 1 School, Gandhi Nagar & senior category 1st KV No. 1 School & 2nd K.V. No. 2 School Gandhi Nagar. Sh. Bhopal Dutta Branch President welcomed the quests. Smt. Amita Sharma & Arun Sharma were the compeers.

Trikuta Nagar (Jammu), Jammu & Kashmir : BKJ was conducted in Cooperative school on 19th Nov. 2013. 3 schools participated in the competition. In both junior & senior level the teams that stood first in both the categories were advised to appear in the State Level competition on 28th Nov. Chief guest was Dr. Santosh Gupta & guest of honour Shri Arun Sharma. Both branches of Trikuta Nagar & Bahu participated. 17 umbrellas were distributed to Orphan Girls of Kargil by Trikuta Nagar branch on 21.11.2013. 

Tamil Nadu & Pondycherry : State Level BKJ was held on 30th November at Jawahar Vidyalaya School, Ashok Nagar, Chennai. Nine teams each participated in Junior and senior category. The junior and senior quiz was conducted by Shri P. Jayachandran Naidu, President, Corporate Branch and Shri K. Natarajan, Prant Secretary respectively. Dr. B. Natarajan, HOD of Tamil & former Chief NSS Officer, DG Vaishnav College was the chief guest and distributed prizes, certificates to the participating students. Modern School Velachery won the first prize in both junior & senior categories. A large no of National/Zonal/Prant and branch office bearers were present.

Goa : State level BKJ was held at Saraswat Higher Secondary School, Khorlim (Mapusa) on 19.11.2013 hosted by Mapusa branch. Students from 5 schools participated in senior category and Bhatikar Model High School, Margao were the winners. 8 Schools  participated in the junior category and Saint John of the Cross (Sankhali) were the winners. Shri Mahendra Ghosarwadkar conducted the quiz competition. Shri Subhash Naik, Ex-Principal of Saraswat Higher Secondary School, Khorlim, was the chief guest. He distributed mementos and certificates to the participants. Shri Krishna Pai Angle, State President spoke about the role and activities of BVP.

Malerkotla, Punjab East : Branch hosted State level BKJ quiz competition. 24 teams in senior category and 26 in junior participated. Team from Sunam got 1st position in senior group and team from Mandi Gobindgarh got 1st position in junior group.

Bhubaneswar North, Odisha : On 3rd November 2013 organised BKJ at Pravujee English Medium School auditorium. 9 teams in senior group and 7 in junior group participated. Swami Sankarananda Giri of Kriya Yoga Ashrma was the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winning students.

Maharshi Arbind, Koshi Bihar : Prant organised BKJ at High School S.B. Pur. Teams of seven branches participated. It was the inaugurated by President Onkar Sharan Singh Tagore Public School S.B. Pur stood first in both junior and senior groups. All students were rewarded by giving certificates, medals, mementos.

A.P.East : State level BKJ quiz competition was held at Gudiwada on 08.12.2013. S. Venkata Subbiah RDO, Gudiwada division, ANR College Principal Dr. Y. Venkateswarao participated in the programme as guests. State President K. Rambabu, St. Vice President Sr. B. Tirupataiah, State Advisor Ch. Vijay Kumar, Gudiwada branch President D. Rambabu along with his team conducted the programme successfully. State convener BKJ Shri PLV Subrahamanyam and State Convener (personality development) Sri Jagadish Prasad conducted the quiz competition. Sri Prakash school students got 1st prize in seniors & Aditya Public School students got 1st prize in juniors.

Gujarat North : Prant organised Oral exam of BKJ with main aim to provide general knowledge regarding Indian cultural & sanskar on 24.11.2013 in the school of Bhabhar. In this exam 44 students of 22 teams from different villages of Primary School & Secondary School actively participated. In this function Radhanpur Distt. R.S.S. Karyavaha Sri Jivanbhai Ahir, & Hiteshbahi Thakkar, remained present as guests as well as Zone representative Shri Bharatbhai Thakkar, & President Dr. Ajaybhai Joshi, Secretary Ashwinbhai Parekh, BVP Bhabhar President Babubhai Halani, Project coordinator Dr. Nikhilbhai Khamar & Hamirji Thakor Bachubhai, also remained present. At the end of the competition in Primary Vibhag, B.M. School of Patan remained first and in Secondary Vibhag Prerna Mandir High School of Patan remained first. In Primary Vibhag Priya Mukeshbhai Patel & Vohara Krupalu Nikhilbhai from school of B.M. Primary Patan & secondary Vibhag Joshi Ronak Arvindbhai & Nanecha Tarun Laxmanbhai from School of Prerna Mandir High School of Patan were Honoured by trophy in the presence of honourable chief guest. Hemantbhai Katwala was the quiz master.

Alwar, Rajasthan North East : Organised BKJ competition in IMA hall at Civil Hospital Alwar. 28 teams participated in the quiz competition in senior and junior categories. Alwar Public School stood first in both the categories. Delhi Public School stood second, third was Oswal Public School and special prize went to VL Memorial School in the junior category. In the senior category, second was Oswal Jain School, third was Delhi Public School and special prize went to Oswal Public School.

Shahdol, Mahakaushal : Branch and Prant level final round BKJ was organized in Manas Bhawan auditorium  on 12.12.2013. CA Shashank Srivastava, Prant President was the chief guest. Shahdol and Satna teams stood first in senior and junior level respectively who will participate in All India level competition.

Jorhat, Assam : Branch organized a quiz competition on 20th October 2013 in the conference hall of Senior Citizens Forum. Shri Jadav Saikia, Project Director, DRDA, Golaghat Distt. conducted the quiz competition, wherein Springdale High School team secured 1st position. The best team was awarded Amal Kr. Majumdar memorial running trophy. Shri Dilip Bezbarua, Secretary welcomed the gathering and Dr. Arun Pathak, Convenor, Education Subcommittee spoke briefly about BVP. The running trophy was donated by Dr. Labanya Majumdar in memory of her husband, a former Secretary of the branch, Late Amal Kr. Majumdar. The other trophies and prizes were donated by senior member Deepika Borgohain in memory of her husband Late Haren Borgohain. The prizes were distributed by Dr. Labanya Majumdar and Deepika Borgohain.

Palanpur, Gujarat North : The written examination was held in 18 schools wherein 2218 students appeared Thereafter oral exam. was conducted on 13.10.2013 wherein 46 students of 13 schools took part. Quiz master Ajay Gupta, Bhavna Raval & Scorer Archana Gupta did good work in conducting the quiz.

Maharshi Arbind, Koshi Bihar : 500 students of five schools appeared in written test on 26th Oct. Oral quiz was held on 27.10.2013 in the presence of Pr. President Onkar S. Singh. Pramod Bhagat Pr. Gen. Secy. conducted the oral quiz. Ritesh Ranjan JP Vice President was the chief guest. Teams of Tagore Public School stood first in both categories.

Nabha, Punjab East : In BKJ written pratiyogita 1348 students from 7 schools participated. Oral quiz contest was held on 6th November 2013 at Dayanand Public School under the president ship of Rakesh K. Gupta. Quiz was conducted by Divya Jain & Gaurav Gupta. Two teams each from Junior and senior section were short listed. Prizes were given by chief guest Kusam Kaushal, Principal Dayanand Public School.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar : Junior & senior category BKJ test was held in 15 schools of Mohali on 28.10.2013. After picking up 1st and 2nd student from each such school, a quiz competition was organized by Mohali-I & II branches jointly on 08.11.2013 at Shaheed Udham Singh Bhawan. Dr. Uma Sharma President welcomed the teachers and students as also members present. Shri S.C. Galhotra Prant Org. Secy. presided over the function. Junior team of Shastri Model School and senior team of Golden Bell Public School were declared the winners. Both the teams including the runners up were awarded mementos of Swami ji by Sh. A.R. Kumar, Ex-President. The winner teams were sent to Malerkotla to participate in the State level function on 10.11.2013.  Sh. Anil Sharma President Mohali-II proposed vote of thanks.    

Jammu East, Jammu & Kashmir : Organised BKJ quiz competition in S.D. Sabha Hr. Sec. School. 10 schools participated. 9 teams each participated in junior & senior category. In junior category Delhi Public School, bagged Ist position whereas 2nd & 3rd positions went in favour of SD School Jullaka Mohala & SD School Rehari respectively. In senior category Environment Education Institute got Ist position whereas 2nd & 3rd position was captured by Oriental Academy Hr.Sec. School & JK Public School, Panjtirthi.  All the competitors were given mementos and certificates.    

Mapusa, Goa : Branch organized an Inter School quiz competition at Saraswati Higher Secondary School, Khorlim on 21.11.2013 for senior category. Students from seven schools participated in the competition. G.S. Amonkar Vidyalaya winners and Kirti Vidyalaya were the runners up. Shri Subhash Pal, Secretary distributed the prizes and Shri Waman Dharwadkar, Treasurer distributed certificates to the participants. Shri Sandip Shirodkar and Shri Sukhaji Naik (both members) were present on this occasion 

Malad West, Maharashtra Coastal-1 : 13th BKJ was held on 29.09.2013 conceptualized and conducted by members of Youth Wing of branch. 66 teams from 40 schools competed with Children's Academy emerging the winner in senior category and St. Thomas Academy in Junior category. There was a team of 4th class students also that participated in the event.

Karnataka South : Prant level BKJ competition was held on 17th November hosted by Nija Guna branch (Kollegal). Chief Guests included Dr. N. Chandregowda, Deputy Director, Deptt. of Preuniversity Edu. Chamarajanagar, Smt. Mahadevamma B.E.O Kollegal, Dr. S. Datteshkumar Secretary Manasa Shikshana Institution, Kollegal, Shri S. Balaraju, President Poorna Prajna Educational Institute, Kollegal, Dr. Shivarudraswamy of Mudduveerappa Memorial Hospital, Kollegal, Shri S. Khova Revanna, Prant President and Shri B.N. Shivashankar, branch President besides other dignitaries of Prant and branch level. Shri N. Shankaralinga Swamy, Prant Gen. Secy. and Shri C. Srikantaiah, branch Secretary welcomed the gathering in the inaugural and the prize distribution sessions respectively. 15 Sr. teams and 14 Jr. teams participated in the competition conducted by quiz master Shri Uday of the Prant. Result : seniors: 1st prize Sri Vani Vidya Kendra, Basaveswara Nagar, Bangalore (under Vidyaranya Shakha), IInd prize Siddaganga Public School, Chandra Layout, Bangalore (under Lokamanya) IIIrd prize St. Ann's P.U. College, Channapatna and consolation prize T.A. Pai English School, Udupi. Juniors: Ist prize St. Joseph High School, K.R. Nagar, IInd prize G.J. Public School Madikeri, IIIrd prize S. Cadambi High School, Basaveswaranagar, Bangalore (under Vidyaranya shakha) and consolation prize Himanshu School, Malleswaram, Bangalore under (Mythreyi). While distributing prizes to the proud winners Shri S. Balaraju, one of the chief guest, implored the unsuccessful team not to lose heart but keep trying and they too would emerge winners in future. He quoted instances from the lives of greats like Thomas Alva Edison whose inventions came only after several failures. Shri N. Ramesh, Branch Treasurer and Shri M. Vittobha Setty, Prant BKJ convener proposed vote of thanks.

Karimganj, Assam : Branch organized written test on 08.09.2013. 379 students appeared. From this, six teams of each group i.e. Senior & Junior were selected for final round quiz competition. On 29.09.2013 final round was held at Karimganj College auditorium inaugurated by Shri Biswajit Chakraborty, Additional District & Session Judge. In junior group Saraswati Vidyaniketan H.S. School secured 1st position, while in the senior group St. Joseph School, Badarpur got the 1st position. Prizes were awarded to the winning teams and certificates to all the participants.  

Madanganj-Kishangarh, Rajasthan Central : BKJ school level was held on 31st August 2013 in which 6187 students participated from 30 schools. Second stage guiz was held on 27th Sept. 2013 at Agarwal School in which Sagar Jain School got first rank in junior and Kidds Convent School first rank in senior level. Mahila Karyakarta Smt. Prabha Papriwal and Smt. Shashi Chhaparwal deserve a pat for its success.

Malerkotla, Punjab East : Branch organized BKJ in which 300 students participated in written test. Toppers participated in quiz competition. In both the categories Sohrab Public School stood first who participated in State level competition at Sunam on 2nd December 2012.

Karnataka South : Prant level BKJ hosted by Bharadwaj branch Mysore, was conducted in the premises of Maharaja P.U College on 1st December 2012. The chief guests were Shri K. Chidananda Godwa, (Retd. Vice Chancellor) Shri Nagaraju, National Convener, Samagra Gram Vikas and Shri K.S. Revanna, Prant President. Dr. U.B. Ashok Kumar, Prant Vice President presided. 22 teams participated in senior and junior categories. The team from Pawan English School Bangalore bagged the 1st prize in senior category and the team from Vijaya Vittala Vidyashala, Mysore secured 1st place in junior category. Prizes were distributed by Dr. S. Murali, Chairman Maharaja Education Trust Mysore.

Vidyaranya Vijayanagar, Bangalore : Conducted BKJ competition on 17th Nov. 2012 at the Govt. High School police colony. Smt. Veena, Sangeetha Vidushi inaugurated the event. Nearly 1000 students from 19 schools participated in the school level competitions and 22 teams from 11 schools participated in the shakha level meet. Teams from S. Cadambi Vidyakendra High School, Basaveswaranagar and new Cambridge High School Vijayanagar bagged the first prize in senior and junior category respectively. Shri S.K. Revanna, Prant President and Shri Bapugowda Patil, Chairman Bangalore City Co-ordinating committee distributed prizes. Shri Kunikullaiya, Vice-President was in the chair.

Kapila, Nanjangud : Conducted BKJ quiz on 8th and 9th Nov. 2012 for junior and senior teams. Thirteen teams took part in junior group. Team from Kittur Rani Chennamma school stood first. 13 teams participated in senior group. Team from Carmel High School stood first.  

Bhuna, Haryana West : Organised BKJ at Shanti Niketan School on 2nd Dec. Chief Guest was Sh. Ram Singh Phanden. 13 schools participated. In senior group Shanti Niketan School got 1st prize.  New Holy Child Public School won in junior group. A cultural programme was also held.

Panchkula, Haryana North : Panchkula and Suraj branches organized BKJ quiz contest on 3rd Nov.  2012 in which 12 senior and 11 junior teams participated. D.C. Model School got 1st position both in junior and senior groups. The chief guest Mahesh Aggarwal donated `21000/- to the branch. Sh. Mulk Raj Gupta, the guest of honour donated ` 51000/- to the Trust for helping the needy trainees of Bitiya Vikas Kendra.

Malerkotla, Punjab East : Branch organized BKJ for Sr. & Jr. groups. After written test, toppers participated in quiz competition of both categories. Sohrab Public School got first position in both the groups.

Janakpuri Main, Delhi South : Branch organized BKJ in 4 schools on 09.11.2012. 100 junior & 250 senior students participated in the quiz contest.

Delhi North : State level competition was conducted on 16.12.2012. 120 students of 30 schools participated. The results: junior group first Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya Shalimar Bagh, senior group first PG DAV Sr. Sec. School West Patel Nagar. Sh. Sanjay Bhartiya Principal Nav Bharti School was the guest of honour. 

Bicholim, Goa : Organized BKJ on 30th November 2012. Six Schools in senior and five in junior group participated. Shivajiraje H/S Kholpewadi bagged the first prize in senior group. Shri Shantadurga H/S Bicholim bagged first prize in junior group. Renowned Gynecologist Dr. Mithun Mahatme was the chief guest who said "have aim in your life, try to achieve it, you will be able to achieve it". Quiz master was Makarand Kamat.

Jharkhand : State level BKJ was held at Rotary Bhawan Jhumaritilaiya on 04.11.2012 hosted by the same branch. It was formally inaugurated by the chief guest Shri Rajesh Sharma IAS Deputy Commissioner Koderma. 16 teams in senior and 15 teams in junior group participated from 21 schools. Holy Cross School B.S. City and V.S.V.M. Hazaribag became champion in Jr. and Sr. group resp. Rakesh Ranjan & Shri Sanjay Sinha conducted the quiz.

Dhubri, Assam : 10th State level BKJ competition was held at district library auditorium on 11th Nov. 2012. Shri Satyajit Khound, Chief Judicial Magistrate, was the chief guest. Dr. H.A. Rashid, President presided over the inaugural session. Abhra Das was the anchor. Shri A. Bhattacharya, District and Session Judge cum chairman, District Legal Services authority, Dhubri, was present in the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest. Shri R. Duara AD & SJ, was the special guest. Shri P.C. Kalita, Asst. district and session judge, Dhubri and Shri B.K. Dutta, P.B.D. Manager, SBI Dhubri graced the prize distribution ceremony as guest of honour. 22 teams participated. In both the groups. Maharshi Vidyamandir, Barsajai Guwahati stood  1st . SBI sponored the prizes. District legal services authority, awarded prize money to the 1st position holder in both senior and junior group.

Jammu & Kashmir: State level BKJ quiz competition was organised at Dogra Academy H/S School Shastri Nagar on 1st December 2012. 16 teams participated both in junior and senior level. In senior level K.V. No1,  while in junior level Jodhamal School stood 1st . The chief guest Shri Gulchain Singh Chawla appreciated the efforts of BVP to organise such programme. The anchor of the quiz was Dr. Santosh Gupta.  

Swami Vivekanand, Jammu : Organized BKJ on 29.11.2012. 10 schools participated. In junior category Dogra Hr. Sec. School Shastri Nagar and in senior category S.D. Tara Puri High School, Gandhi Nagar Jammu stood first. The chief guest was Dr. Santosh Gupta, and the guest of honour Sh. S.N. Sharma State patrons.

Jammu West : Branch level BKJ quiz competition was organized on 29.11.2012 at Ved Mandir complex, Amphala Jammu. Students from class 8th to 12th from different schools participated. Sh. Amar Chand Gupta President, Ved Mandir Trust was the chief guest. Sh. Vijay Sharma State General Secretary, was the guest of honour. Sh. V.K. Tandon introduced the participants about the programme and its importance in the present day context. The teams of Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School and Shangrilla Higher Secondary School won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes respectively.

Gandhi Nagar : Branch level BKJ was organized on 30th Oct. 5 schools participated. K.V. No. 1 was declared 1st both in junior and senior teams. Trophies were given to position holders. All the participants were given certificates. Principal of the school Mrs Mussart Jabeen was the chief guest. 

A.P. East : Prant level BKJ was held at Training and Development centre, Visakhapatnam steel plant hosted by the same branch. Chief Guest was Sh. Jaganatham, Dy. General Manager (HRD) while Shri P.V.S. Krishna Rao, Prant President presided over the meeting. Winners : senior group Akjshara Shri Smart School, Rajahmundry & junior group Aditya Public School, Kakinada. 19 teams participated.

Sirhind Mandi, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab East : BKJ written competition cum quiz was organised on 14 and 21.10.2012 respectively at Govt. Girls Sen. Sec. School. 700 students from 13 schools participated in both groups. Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra Ex-MP and State General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal and S. Amarjit Singh Bhola renowned social worker inaugurated the function. SPS School, Sirhind stood first in senior and Maharishi Dayanand High School in junior group. Certificates were awarded to all the participants along with mementoes. Event was covered by press.

Chandigarh West-I : Organised a quiz contest on 27.10.2012 in Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Sector-37-C, in two categories i.e. Junior and Senior. Eleven teams from Junior and nine teams from senior category from 15 schools participated. The written test was conducted on 12.10.2012 in which about 1700 students participated. The result : Junior category : First Hritik Bisht and Jatin Bansal from Govt. Model Senior Sec. School-35-D, Senior category : First Hunny Babbar and Anurag from Govt. High School, Sector-41-A. All the winners and participants were suitably honoured. Chandan Lata Principal of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector-37-C, was also honoured by Sh. R.K. Moudgil, President of the branch. Sh. S.C. Galhotra State Vice President and Sh. D. D. Gupta Additional Secretary were the chief guests.

Chandigarh South-I : A quiz competition was organised on October 30, 2012 in Govt. High School Sector-31 in which five teams (each of junior and senior categories) took part. Shri P.K. Sharma, President District South Chandigarh and K.L. Chauhan Secretary (Audit) Zone-I also attended. Govt. High Sr. Sec. School-47D, stood first in both categories. Principal of the school distributed prizes.

Manimajra : Branch organised a written test in BKJ. 980 students from Govt. and private schools from Manimajra and Mauli Jagran participated.

Hajipur, Punjab North : BKJ competition among 8 schools was held in Raghubir Govt. Sr. Sec. School on 12th Oct. 2012. 6 junior & 6 senior teams took part. St. Vivekanand Memorial Public School stood 1st in Sr. group & RSD Public High School Hajipur in junior group. All participants were given certificates & winners Swami Vivekanand books by BVP Distt. President Cmdr. (Retd.) Sansar Chand Sharma who was presiding over the function.

Agartala East & West, Tripura : Branches jointly conducted BKJ competition on 13.10.2012 at the Conference Hall of Tripureswari Vidyamandir Gandhigram. State President Shri Dhirendra Kalai presided. State Vice President and renowned educationist Smt. Manjulika Deb Barman delivered her welcome address. Principal Dr. Amal Majumdar was the chief guest. 30 competitors of 6 groups participated. J.C. Bose Group stood first. The quiz master was Shri Ajit Kumar Shyam.

Jorhat, Assam  : Organised BKJ on 7th Oct. in the Conference Hall of senior citizens forum. 17 teams comprising 34 school students participated. Assam Rifle Nodal School secured 1st position. Smt. Sakuntala Devi, Chairperson of Kanaklata Mahila Co-op. Bank Jorhat was the chief guest. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of an essay competition on the subject 'Relevance of Swami Vivekanand in today's context'. The 1st prize was won by Luit Valley Academy. 

Bokaro Thermal, Jharkhand : Conducted BKJ jointly with Vivekanand Kathara and Gairmajrua gramin branch on 23.09.2012 at Station Club Bokaro Thermal. 24 teams in Jr group & 21 teams in Sr. participated. The chief guest was Er. G Jha, C.E., B.T.P.S.

Partap (Sriganganagar), Rajasthan North : BKJ was held in 15 schools. 772 students participated. 493 were in senior section and 279 were in junior.

Madanganj-Kishangarh, Rajasthan Central : BKJ was held on 4th Nov. 2012 at Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Shahpura under the president ship of National Secretary General Sh. S.K. Wadhwa. 21 teams participated each in junior and senior category : Kishangarh branch got first rank in junior class (school : Dharamsagar Digambar Jain) Beawar branch got first rank in senior class (School : Adarsh Vidya Mandir)

Karimganj, Assam : 249 students appeared in BKJ written test the competition. Six teams of each group i.e. senior & junior were selected for final round of quiz competition. On 23.09.2012 the final round was held at Karimganj College auditorium inaugurated by Dr. Radhika Ranjan Chakraborty Principal. In junior group Saraswati Vidyaniketan, secured the 1st position while in the senior group Tara Bhusan Pal Junior College got the 1st position. Prizes and certificates were awarded.

Dhuri (Sangrur), Punjab East : BKJ written competition was held among the students of 15 different schools under the supervision of President Sh. Ravinder Bansal, Secretary Pardeep Mittal and Vice President Basant Kumar. Cambridge High School team got first & second position in both the groups.

Later, organized an Oral competition on 09.09.2012. The Cambridge High School team stood first in senior group & Vasant Valley Public School Ladda first in junior group. 

Chandigarh West-II : BKJ was organized in Govt. Model Sr. High Sec. School Sector-40B. The program witnessed a keen contest in both the junior and senior sections. The members, the Principal and the teachers highly appreciated the quality of questions asked and caliber of the students. The winning teams were rewarded with prizes.

Talwandi Bhai, Ferozepur, Punjab South : Branch organised BKJ on 13th Nov. in two schools. 280 students in junior and 120 in senior categories participated in written test. Team of Shahid Ganj Public School Mudki Ferozepur stood first and participated in State level competition on 4th December 2011 in DAV College auditorium Abohar.  

Tamil Nadu : BKJ quiz was conducted on 18.12.2011. Students from 8 different schools (seniors) and 7 school (juniors) comprising a total of 200 students participated. All the students were awarded mementos and participation certificates by the chief guest.

Braj Pradesh : State level BKJ was organized by Vikramaditya, Agra at Jubli Hall, Agra Univ. Campus on 27th Nov. 2011. 22 teams (11 junior and 11 senior) participated. Chief Guests were Prof. Sugam Anand (National Secretary), Shri H.N. Chaturvedi (National Convenor) Shri Kunjbihari Gupta (Zonal Org. Sect.), Shri Sanjeev Jain (Zonal Sect. Audit). Vikram Upadhaya (M.D. HRC. Horizons) was guest of honour. Quiz masters were Dr. R.K. Awasthi and Arun Yadav. Programe was conducted by Dr. Divya Lehri (Prantiya Gen. Sect.) and Shri Akhilesh Yadav (Prantiya Org. Sect.)

Malerkotla, Punjab East : Branch organized BKJ in which 300 hundred students from 7 schools participated in written test. In quiz contest Sohrab Public School got first position in senior group. In junior group team from S.S. Jain Girls High School got first position.

Chandigarh South-I : Organised a written test of BKJ in 6 schools on 05.11.2011. 520 students (245 Jr. 275Sr.) sat for the written competition. A team of two students from each school who stood first and second in the written test participated in the quiz competition on 15.11.2011 in Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector-47. In the junior category the team of Govt. Model Sr.Sec. School Sector-47 stood first and High School Karsan stood second. In senior category a team of Govt Model Sr. Sec. School Karsan stood first and team of Govt. High School, Sector-47 stood 2nd . Prizes and certificates were distributed to first and second teams. Shri Ajay Dutta National Secretary (Vistar) was the chief guest and Principal of the school presided over the function.   

Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana, Punjab North : Branch organized the Inter School quiz contest 2011-12 in the auditorium of Partap Public School on 26.11.2011. Out of 5 schools joining the quiz contest, four teams participated in each of the junior and senior category. The first prize in the junior category was won by Partap Public School, while in senior category, the first position was scored by GRD Academy. The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. Mrs. Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal, Director, Partap Institutions of Education appreciated the good work being done by BVP.

Shahpurkandi : Ist stage was conducted in 8 different schools. About 600 students participated in the written test. On 25.11.2011 quiz competition was conducted at Auckland Public School.  8 teams  in junior and senior wings participated. In junior wing Harsh & Sahil got Ist position and in senior wing Bhavna Bharti & Shikha stood Ist. Shri Rajesh Kanda Vice Chairman of Auckland Public School distributed the prizes. Mrs. Anjali Josrotia Principal of the school thanked & praised BVP for conducting quiz competition. 

Delhi North: State level competition was organised on 10.12.2011 at Abhinav Public School Pitampura. 80 students from 15 schools sat for written test for junior and senior categories and then quiz among top 4 teams was held. The results : Junior: Govt. Boys Sr.Sec. School Prashant Vihar. Senior: Govt. Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya Shalimar Bagh. Secretary General S.K. Wadhwa, Dr. K.L. Gupta Finance Secretary graced the occastion with their presence. West Patel Nagar branch organised this activity in 9 schools at branch level wherein 5000 stududents participated.

Karimganj, Assam : Branch organised BKJ written test on 04.09.2011at Babyland English Medium High School and St. Joseph's School Badarpur. 431 students in junior & senior groups participated.  BKJ quiz competition was held on 25.09.2011 at Karimganj College Auditorium inaugurated by Prof. Dilip Sen Gupta. In junior group Saraswati Vidyaniketan secured first position. In the senior group Tara Bhusan Pal Junior College of Science got the first prize. The program was sponsored by Gautam Deb Ray, member of the branch while the prizes were sponsored by Shri Prasanta Choudhury President of the branch.       

Karnataka South: Prant level BKJ competition (2011/12) was held on 27th November 2011 at the Holy Town of Sringeri where Adi Shankaracharya established the first of the four mutts (Sharada Peetham). The event was inaugurated by Shri Sripadarao of Sharada Peetham. Shri N.Daulath Rao, National Add. Org. Secretary and Shri A.S. Nataraj, Prant President were present along with other eminent dignitaries of Sringeri. The quiz master was Shri Gopi Madhav. The first prize in the junior category was bagged by Govt. Higher Primary School, Sringeri, and in senior category by Govt. High School, Police Qtrs. Magadi Rd. Bangalore. Second, third and consolation prizes were also awarded to other deserving teams. The event was marked by suitable words of advice and encouragement to participants by the chief guests, guests and other dignitaries. The competition was excellently hosted by Sringeri Shakha. The function came to a close after a glittering cultural programme featuring Dances by budding artists of Sringeri. 

Jharkhand : State level BKJ 2011 was held at S.K.P. Vidya Vihar auditorium, Deoghar on 11.12.2011 organised by Deoghar branch. 21 teams (senior & junior) participated from 12 branches of the state. Delhi Public School, Dhanbad and Vananchal Shishu Vidya Manidr, Hazaribag were the winners of junior & senior group resp. The chief guest Shri U.S. Singh IAS, SDO, Deoghar in his speech praised BVP a lot for such sanskar based activites and advised to perform several times in a year which can make the children sanskarit. Shri G.P. Singh, National Convener (vistar) briefed at lenght about the different activities of BVP. State General Secretary P.K. Ambastha briefed about the importance of Sanskar Prakalp in general and BKJ in particular. Shri Abhay Kant Prasad, Ex. BJP President, Jharkhand, Ex. MP and member Jharkhand Coord-Committee was thrilled to witness the programme. Mr. Prasad gave away the prizes. Guest of honour was Dr. N.C. Gandhi.

Mayurvarma, Karwar, Karnataka North : State level BKJ quiz contest was held on 16.10.2011. 22 teams from 16 schools participated. For the first time in the country BKJ was held in the regional language Kannada also. Inauguration of the event was done by the Deputy Director, Public Instructions, Uttara Kannada District, Shri S. Jayakumar. National Convener and State level Office Bearers were present. The Patron of branch Octogenarian Dr. S.R. Pikle, presided over the closing ceremony. The President of Karwar Municipality and a prominent philanthropist Ganapati Ulvekar, who hosted food for the entire programme was honoured.

Belgaum : BKJ competition of branch was held at GG Chitnis English Medium School on 2nd October  2011. Herwadkar English Medium School scored highest marks and bagged the first place. In all 80 students and 8 schools took part in this project. Shri Shevantilal Shah, Educationist and Chairman of Dnyan Deep Educational Institute, was invited as the chief guest. Shevantilal Shah was felicitated and honoured with shawl, memento and flowers by the President Smt. Sukhad Deshpande, on his 75th birth day, as also for valuable services to the society through various organizations.

Vidyaranya, Bangalore, Karnataka South  : Branch level competition of BKJ was inaugurated by R. Chandrasekharaiah, member BBMP Bangalore City corporation on 05.11.2011. 27 teams participated.
The quiz was conducted by S.V. Nagaraj, event convener and Smt. A.R. Lakshmi, Secretary. The teams from Government High School Police Quarters and S. Cadambi Vidyakendra bagged the 1
st prize in senior and junior wings respectively. Prizes were distributed by A.S. Nataraj, President (K. South).

Bokaro Thermal, Jharkhand : Branch organized BKJ competition jointly with Kathara, Gairmajarua & Gomia branches on 25.09.2011 at Station Club. 40 teams of senior & junior groups of 30 schools participated. Earlier about 4000 students participated in the school level exam. The (NC Vistar) Er. G.P. Singh, CE, DVC, BTPS gave away prizes to the selected teams, teachers, participants, quiz masters and others. He was assisted by the state G.S.P.K. Ambastha and they addressed the audience. The manch sanchalan was done by Smt. Rinki Prasad.

Viswaswarya (Varanasi), Kashi Pradesh : Branch organized BKJ in which 530 students of 9 schools of Varanasi participated . The competition was organized in two groups of 6-8 junior & 9-12 senior.

Goalpara, Assam : Branch organized BKJ quiz competition on 25th September 2011. 14 teams participated in the competition held in two groups junior and senior. The anchors were Prof. Mantu Das & Prof. Dhananjoy Medhi of Goalpara College. In junior group Sainik School & in senior group Sankar Dev Shishu Niketan School, secured first position.

Kokrajhar : Branch organized BKJ quiz competition on 25th September 2011. 11 teams participated in competition held in two groups junior and senior. The anchor was Shri Ashok Singh, Joint Secretary. In both junior & senior groups Boby land H.E. School secured first position.

Birjhora : Branch organized BKJ quiz competition on 29th October 2011 at Birjhora Girls M.V. School. 14 teams participated in the competition held in two groups junior and senior. It was inaugurated by Hon'ble Dr. Kesabh Narayan Dev Sarma, State Advisor. In junior group Shri Sankardev Sishu Niketan School stood first and in senior group Hindi H.S. School secured first position.

Abhayapuri : Branch organized BKJ quiz competition on 2nd October 2011 at Shri Sankardev Shishu Niketan School. 16 teams participated in the competition in two groups junior and senior. Results : in junior group Shri Sankardev Shishu Niketan School secured first position and in senior group Abhayeswari H.S. & M.P. School stood first.

Barpeta Road : Branch organised BKJ quiz competition at Sankardev Shishu Niketan on 02.10.2011. 24 teams participated. In senior group the 1st and 2nd positions were bagged by the teams of Marian School and Sankardev Shishu Niketan respectively while in junior category the teams of Manash Villay Academy and St. Maryas School were placed 1st and 2nd respectively. Prof. J.L. Nahata was the chief guest.

Dhubri : BKJ quiz competition for school and college students was organized on 23rd Oct. 2011 in the District Library Auditorium. The chief guest was Shri S.K. Deb, Chief Manager State Bank of India. Dr. H.A. Rashid presided over the function. 62 teams from different schools and colleges participated. In the junior group Bethal Baptist Mission School, S.P. English Medium High School got the 1st, 2nd  prize respectively. In the senior group S.P.H.S. School and Happy Convent School got 1st & 2nd prizes respectively. The Bank sponsored the prizes. State Bank of India has agreed to sponsor the teams in the state level quiz competition also.  

Bhubaneswar Central, Odisha : Branch arranged BKJ quiz competition on 16th Oct. 2011 at Subarnarekha Chamber. In junior team 10 schools and in senior 11 schools took part. Shri L.K. Mohanty Zonal Secretary was appointed as observer. Mementos were given to the winners and certificates to all the participants.

Trikuta Nagar, Jammu & Kashmir : Bahu and Trikutnagar branches jointly conducted BKJ quiz competition on 3rd Nov. 2011 at Govt. Middle School, Railway Colony Jammu. There were three  teams for junior upto 8th standard and one team of senior above eighth standard. Team of S.O.S. Home middle school Channi was declared winners followed by Coooperative School as second. Prof. Satish Chander Anand spoke on the relevance of this competition. Trophies were distributed.

Chandigarh West-I, Punjab East : Branch organized written competition on 29.10.2011 for 12 schools. 700 students from both wings participated. Oral competition was organized in Govt. Model High School Sector-41. The result : 1st Govt. Model Senior Sec. School-37-B, 2nd Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School-35-D. Senior wing : 1st position Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Sector-35-D, 2nd position Govt. Model High School Sec.-36. All the fourteen winners were honoured with the prizes and also all the 40 participants with mementos. The Govt. Sr. Sec. School Sector-37-D was honoured for maximum number of students that appeared in the written competition. The host school was also honoured with a memento.

Chandigarh South-I : Branch organized a written test in 6 schools on 05.11.2011. 520 students participated (245 junior & 275 senior categories.) A team of two students from each school who stood first and second in the written test participated in the quiz competition on 15.11.2011 in Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-47. In the junior category : a team of Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector-47 (Master Paras Mani and Mahesh Kumar) stood first, Govt High School Karasan (Rahul and Rajani) stood Second. In the senior category a team of Govt Model Sr. & Sec. School Karsan Nitu and Komal stood first and a team of Govt. High School, Sector-47-A 2nd. Shri Ajay Dutta, National Secretary (Vistar), was the Chief Guest and Principal of the school presided over the function.

Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana, Punjab North : Branch organized BKJ in 5 schools. 583 students in junior category and 151 students in senior category participated in written test held on Oct. 14, 2011. Dr. DRC Bankhetia was the coodinator for the project.

Janakpuri Main, Delhi South : Branch organised BKJ in 6 schools. 1000 junior & 500 senior students participated. The convener of the competition was V.S. Gupta.

Gujarat North : Prant organised an oral exam of BKJ on 20.11.2011 in the auditorium of Kankuba of Shardaba Shanskar Bhavan Chansma. 40 students of 20 teams from different villages of Primary & Secondary Schools participated. Mehsana Distt. Bank Asst. Jr. Manager Manubhai Patel, Kirtibhai Patel, Chief Officer Chansma Rajendrabhai Patel were present as guests. Winners were honoured by presentation of trophy etc. by the chief guest.  

Mapusa, Goa : Branch organized quiz competition at Saraswat Vidyalaya Khorlim on 20.11.2011 for junior and senior category. 9 schools in senior and 3 in junior categories participated. Mahendra Ghosarwadkar conducted the quiz competition. Shanta Vidyalaya secured the championship in junior category and G.S. Amonkar Vidyalaya were the winners in the senior category. Sanjeev Dharwadkar, Headmaster of Saraswat Vidyalaya distributed the prizes and certificates.

Maharashtra Coastal-I
: BKJ quiz competition was organised at Modern School sector-7 Vashi on 25th September by Vashi and Nerul branches jointly. 18 schools participated with 170 students. After the written test selected eight teams were asked questions in three rounds.In final quiz all four teams in each category had to face more rounds of visual and audio questions. Prize distribution function was graced by the chief guest Smt. Manisha Andhansare, Principal St. Xavier's High School Nerul. The result is first Fr. Angel Multipurpose School, Vashi; second Sainath English High School Vashi. Senior category first Sainath English High School Vashi, second ICL High School, Vashi. A set fo books, pertaining to Swami Vivekananda was given to each school, as a gift along with participation certificates.

Naraina Vihar, Delhi North : In BKJ competition held on 30th August 2011 four schools participated. More than 300 books of BKJ were distributed to these schools for preparation. This programme helped students to know about Indian culture and history. All the winners were given certificates and prizes on Teachers day on 5th September 2011.

Agartala East & West, Tripura : Branch conducted a quiz competition at Ranibazar town conference hall on 10.09.2011. 600 students with their parents attended the function. Headmaster Manoranjan Bhowmick delivered his welcome speech. Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Group stood first & Runners up was Rishi Aurobindo Group. Consolation prizes were awarded to all the participants as headmaster offered a sum of Rs. 2001.00 as a token of donation.

South Guwahati, Assam : Branch arranged NGSC and BKJ quiz competition on 4th September 2011 in which four schools participated. Modern English School, Kahilipara stood first both in Hindi and Sanskrit. In BKJ Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Lalmati team stood first both in junior & senior divsions.

Chandigarh South-I, Punjab East : Branch organized BKJ on 03.11.10 in 6 schools. 525 students participated in the written test. 6 junior and 6 senior teams then participated in quiz competition organized on 15.11.10 in Government senior secondary model school, sector-47, Chandigarh. Trophies to first and second teams were presented. One senior and one junior team from the branch participated in the state level competition held on 21.11.10 at Patiala.

Himachal Pradesh : State level BKJ was organised by Palampur branch on 12.12.10 at girls senior secondary school palampur. 7 teams participated. Auchland home team stood Ist in competition Chief guest was Hon'ble MLA Vipin Singh Parmar.

Delhi North : State level BKJ competition was organised on 19.12.10 at Nav Bharti Public School Pitampura. In junior group NAV Bharti Public School and in senior group PGDAV Sr. Sec. School were graced by Sudesh Bhasin MC and Usha Gupta MC. 250 people were present at the function and the activity was grand success.

Jharkhand : Prant organised BKJ on 21.11.10 hosted by Bokaro Thermal branch at station club B.T.P.S. 32 schools both in Senior & Junior groups of 16 branches participated in the competition. Pitts Modern School, Gomia (Kathara branch) and Denobilee School, Chandrapura (Chandrapura branch) won the winners shield in senior & junior group resp. The chief guest was state patron Er. G.N. Singh, Chief Engineer & Project head D.V.C., and quiz masters were Er. U. Chaudhary & Er. Jayanti Tripathy. He was accompanied by the Z.O.C. Er. G.P. Singh, zonal secy Dr. Balmiki Kumar, State V.P. Er. Anil Kumar & State G.S. Er. P. K. Ambastha. The chief guest in his address lauded the contributions of BVP in the field of Sanskar & Seva. 

Malaprabha (Dharwad), Karnataka North :BKJ quiz competition was held on 28.08.10 at KNK Girls High School auditorium. 12 high school students participated. The function was inaugurated by Shri Girish Padaki Block Education Officer. Shri Wilson Maily Principal presided over the function. Shri Manjunath Hugar conducted the competition under the leadership of quiz master Shri Vidyapati Havanur.

Belgaum : On 24.11.10 Childrens' day was celebrated at the Audtitorium of Lions Club. Shri Vinayak Lokur, Shri Amit Soundalgekar and Shri Anil Islampure were the chief guests. Branch President Anand Kulkarni explained the BKJ quiz competition to students and requested them to utilise the knowledge given in the book to enrich their knowledge. On this occasion BKJ books were distributed among the students free of cost. Shri N.B. Deshpande, Secretary extended the vote of thanks.

Karnataka South : Prant level competition was conducted at Malavalli, Mandya District, on 21st Nov. 10. It was inaugurated by Shri Aswathanarayana, member of the Legislative Council, and hosted by Malavalli Shakha. 21 teams in senior and 14 teams in junior category participated. Shri Gopi Madhava quiz master enlivened the event equipped with computers, LCD projectors etc. Hymanshu High School, Florence High School and Sadvidya High School bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively in the senior category. In the junior category, Vidya Mandir, Govt. High School, Police Qrs. and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Madikeri were the Ist, IInd prize winners respectively.  

Vidyaranya, Bangalore : BKJ competition was held at Shri Bharatiya Vidyalaya on 30th October 10 inaugurated by Shri U.N. Bhat, Chairman of Vidyalaya. Shri K.V. Narahari introduced the Chief Guest. Shri B.V. Rao, President spoke about the importance of the event and the role of BVP in Seva and Sanskara. In his address Shri Bhat stressed upon the value system to be adopted by students and praised the work of the Parishad. As many as 58 students from 15 schools participated in the quiz ably conducted by the convener Shri S.V. Nagaraj. Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest and special invitee Shri Mahendra Munot, Proprietor, Maruthi Medicals, who was honoured on Foundation Day 2006. Florence High School, Basaveshwarnagar, bagged the first prize in senior category and Govt. High School, police quarters, Magadi road, in the junior category.

Valmiki Ramanagara : Branch jointly whith choodalingegowda group of education and society, organised BKJ on 13.11.10 at Patel English School. The institution is supplying an ancient historical book of Bharat Darshan to every school in tuluk, written by Nityananda Shanai. Chief Guest Shri B. Umesh, Vice President of town municipality called everybody to give their support to such programmes and also praised about free treatment to 36,000 patients through eye checking camps. Out of 5 teams Harshitha and A.H. Ravikiran of Vasavi School got the first place. Sagar Gowda and Bharati of Patel English School were second which Chaitra and Rakshit of Shantinikethana stood third. In senior level out of 6 teams Patel English School got first place. Shanti Nikethan second and Bhagyashree Pre-university college third.

Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra-I : Only top 8 schools, out of 13 participating schools, were selected to go into preliminary quiz. Nerul and Vashi branches of Navi Mumbai jointly organised BKJ at modern school sector-7 Vashi on 3rd October 2010.105 students participated. The results: junior category first prize Ryan International School, Sanpada, senior category first prize Sainath English High School, Vashi. Each participant was given a book titled ^^Hkkjr esa foKku dh mTToy ijaijk** as a gift, along with participation certificate.

Malerkotla, Punjab East : Branch organised a written test of BKJ on 25th Oct. and the quiz on 3rd Nov. 10. 8 teams in senior and 6 in junior category participated. In senior category students of P. school and in junior category Sarvahitkari vidya mandir won first position and were honoured.

Khanna, Punjab North : Branch organized BKJ quiz contest for junior and senior school students. 1500 students from 21 schools took part in written test which was held on 30.11.10 at Dayanad hall of A.S.Sr.Sec. School. Shri Guru Gobind Singh Future Foundation Public School Macchiwara team stood 1st in senior category.

Shahpurkandi Township : Branch organised BKJ (written) in 6 schools. 371 students participated both in Senior & Junior groups. In quiz competition 24 students took part. Mrs. Sukhjit Kaur Principal of Shri Ram Vidya Mandir presided over other function.

Sriganga Nagar, Rajasthan North : Held a quiz competition of BKJ on Nov. 17.10. Shri Chiman Lal Sharma was the chief guest. 5 teams participated.

Gujarat North : Prant organised an oral exam of BKJ with main aim to provide general knowledge regarding Indian culture & Sanskar on 10.10.10 in the auditorium of K.K. Girls High School Patan. 44 students of 22 teams of Primary & Secondary schools participated. Distt. Education Officer Shri Naishdhbhai Makwana was the chief guest.  In secondary vibhag Vividhlaxi Vidyamandir & in primary Vibhag C.K. Mehta Primary school were honoured with trophy. School dresses were distributed to 45 needy poor girls of K.K. Girls High School by Patan branch.

Shivalik, Jammu & Kashmir : BKJ competition was organized on 20th October 10 at Adarsh Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sr. School, Chhanni Himmat. Dr. Subhash Gupta President J&K Prant, presided over the function. Ritesh Kapoor, administrator of the school while delivering welcome address, highlighted the regular interaction of BVP with the school in inculcating 'Sanskar" in young blood. 7 teams participated in the competition. Jodhamal Public School stood first in senior level whereas Maharishi Vidya Mandir stood first in Junior level.

Jammu West : Branch organised BKJ at K.C. Public School on 15th Nov. 10, presided over by Prof. Satish Anand, National General Secretary Proudh Sanskar. Chief Guest was Shri R.D. Thakur, Principal of the Institution. In junior wing K.C. Public School Akhnoor road, Jammu stood Ist while in senior wing Govt. Mr. Sec. School, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu got Ist position.

Pranavananda, West Bengal : Branch organised an Inter School quiz competition of BKJ at Beachwood school, city centre, Durgapur on 4th Dece. 10. Students of 15 schools from different parts participated in the competition. Shri Kamalendu Mishra, Personnel Officer, Alloy Steels Plant, conducted the quiz in an apt manner. Winners St. Michael's School and Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya were awarded the prizes by Shri G.P. Singh, zonal convener.

Anakapalli, A.P. East : State level BKJ quiz competition sponsored by the Gajuwaka branch was conducted on 28.11.2010. 13 teams each in junior & senior categories participated. In juniors Visakhapatnam and in seniors Kakinada branches stood first. Shri B. Atchutharao, ACP Visakhapatnam South was the chief guest for the valedictory function.    

Birjhora, Assam : Branch organised BKJ on 26th September 10 in the auditorium of Bongaigaon Rly. Institute. In the senior and junior wings Sankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan stood first. Mr Samira Das Principal Bongaigaon Rly L.S. School was the chief guest. 

Palampur, Himachal Pradesh : The state level BKJ partiyogita was conducted on 12.12.10. Seven teams paticipated from different branches. The team from Aucland House School Shimla was declared 1st in this event. The said team was represented by miss. Lakshita Thakur and Vijeyata Chouhan. Yash Mahajan Incharge Sanskar North zone, was also present. Vipin Singh Parmar MLA Sullaha constituancy was the chief guest of the event.

The function was inaugurated by Shri Girish Padaki Block Education Officer. Shri Wilson Maily Principal presided over the function. Shri Manjunath Hugar conducted the competition under the leadership of quiz master Shri Vidyapati Havanur.

Patan, Gujarat North :
  Branch organised BKJ in which exam 1985 students of 36 different schools participated. 826 students of Primary School and 1159 of H. Sec. School gave the exam on 15.08.10.

Karimganj, Assam : Branch organized quiz competition on 12th September 2010 at Karimganj College auditorium. 10 teams participated in two groups - Junior and Senior. It was inaugurated by Dr. Manash Das, Hon'ble Chairman, Karimganj Municipal Board. Baby Land English School bagged 1st prize in the junior group while Saraswati Vidya Niketan H.S. School in senior group. The entire programme was sponsored by our President Shri Prasanta Kumar Choudhury in memory of his beloved brother (Late) Niranjan Choudhury.

Agartala : Branch conducted the BKJ quiz competition at Ramakrishna Sarada Ashram Nivedita Vidyapith School conference hall of Briddanagar, Ranibazar on 11th Sept 2010. The state Vice President Smt. Manjulika Deb Barman the renowned educationist and a well known social worker presided over the function. The Ashram head respected Praggya Mayee Maataji was the chief guest and the Head Mistress Brahmmacharini Smt. Runu Dey was the special guest. All the students and their parents were in the hall including quiz participants in 4 groups namely Vivekananda, Netaji, Rabindranath & Bidyasagar. The zonal Sanskar Secretary North East Smt. Jaba Dhar delivered her welcome address. Smt. Aditi Bhattacharya conducted the function as a young host. Shri Madan Mohan Saha was the quiz Master. The chief guest motivated the students to give more and more attention to their study as well as general knowledge to improve the smartness and intelligibility. Winners were awarded prizes.

Patan, Gujarat North : Branch organised a BKJ exam with the main aim to provide General knowledge regarding Indian culture & Sanskar. In this exam 1985 students of thirty six different schools participated. 826 students of primary schools & 1159 students of higher secondary schools sat for the exam on 15th August 2010. Rajubhai Thakkar, coordinator of this project & all members of the branch worked hard to complete this project.

Punchkula Haryana North : Our Junior team consisting of Rajat and Abhishek of K V II participated in the state level competition held at Samalkha, Panipat and won the first position.This team also represented state at the national level competition.

: Branch felicitated two students Sri Omkar Nath Mishra and Sri Sibananda Panigrahi who secured second position at the National Quiz competition on "Bharat Ko Jano" held at Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Anakapalle Central, A.P. North & East : On 13.12.2009 BKJ programme was conducted in training and development centre, vizag steel plant, vizag in which branch sponsored students of Shri Gurajada School, Kumari K. Indira and Mr. K. Chaitanya got state second prize in the senior group. Branch President, Secretary, Treasurer and concerned chairman of the BKJ participated in the state programme.

Jammu & Kashmir :
Organized Prant level quiz competition in which ten teams each in senior and junior category participated. In the senior category the 1st, 2nd and third positions were bagged by the teams of J.K. Public School Panj Tirthi, Vimal Public School and Maharshi Vidya Mandir Sainik colony respectively while in junior category the teams of Jagriti Niketan Kachichawni, K.C. Public School and Govt. Middle School Guwahati were there in order of merit. The Chief Guest Prof. Balbir Singh of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, appreciated the efforts of BVP to infuse the spirit of Nationalism. The teams were presented mementos and certificates of appreciation.

Dharwad, Karnataka North : Branch participated in the quiz competition conducted at state level on 08.11.2009. The senior team students from Rajasthan Vidya Kendra Dharwad bagged the first prize.

Pilani, Rajasthan North & East : BKJ Pratiyogita was held for the first time on 18.10.2009. The branch is a new branch in North & East Rajasthan. First round of the competition was conducted in nine schools in which about 550 students appeared in senior and junior categories. The next round, a quiz, was held on 19.11.2009 at Saboo College of Commerce and was moderated by Dr. Mahla of Saboo College. Famous poet Shri Nagraj Sharma was the chief guest. Dr. P.P. Gupta Principal presided over the function. Dr. R.P. Pareek, guest of honor along with the District coordinator Shri J.P. Soni graced the function. The chief guest distributed the prizes and certificates. Shri Nagaraj appreciated the efforts of the branch while receiving the memento from Dr. Pareek. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Motilal Dash, the programme co-coordinator.

Punjab East : State level Bharat Ko Jano competition was held on 25th October, 2009 at Ropar. Written test was conducted at branch level on different dates. 11840 students from 148 schools participated in these tests. At state level both in senior and junior groups 16 students participated.  The team of Shri Suraj Kumar Sarvahitkari Vidya Mandir School Sunam, District Sangrur stood first in junior level and team of Holy Family Convent School Ropar stood first in senior level.

 

Bareta, Punjab South : BKJ competition was conducted at the school level in Sixteen different schools. 632 students (332 in Junior group and 300 in the Senior group) took part in the competition held on 5 November 2009. 45 students in Junior and 28 in Senior group appeared at branch level which competition was held on 8.11. 2009 in the premises of Sh. Atma Ram Public School. Cheshta of green level day Boarding Public School bagged 1st position in Junior and Ankur Garg of the same school 2nd position in the senior group.

 

Shahpurkandi Township, Punjab North : BKJ school level written Test was held on 5th October in 9 schools. 204 students of junior level and 197 of senior level participated in the competition. On 09-10-2009 branch level competition was organised at Shri Ram Vidya Mandir, Baroi. 30 students of 9 schools selected during written test participated in the quiz competition. In Junior wing Bhawana Pathania of Shri Ram Vidya Mandir Baroi and in senior wing Manjit Kumar of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Madhopur were the winners.

 

Karnataka North : State level BKJ quiz competition was held on 8th October 2009 at IMA hall Belgaum under the auspices of Belgaum branch. Zonal Organizing Secretary Shri Hemant Deshpande inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. State General Secretary Shri Pandurang Nayak welcomed the guests. 5 teams participated in the competition. Dr. V.B. Yelburgi the convenor of the event was the quiz master. A visual round was introduced in the competition for the first time this year. Smt. Vasundhara Yelburji and Dr. Mrs. Abha Kulkarni were the masters of the ceremony. Shri B.N. Patil was the chief guest. Rastrothana Vidyakendra of Dharwad won the first prize in senior category and Narmadadevi School of Hospet won the first prize in the Junior category.

 

Vidyaranya, Karnataka South : Branch conducted BKJ at RNS Vidyanikethan Bangalore. The event was inaugurated by Shri Jayarama Shetty. Principal, Shri K.V. Narahari introduced the Chief Guest and Shri B.V. Rao, President spoke about the importance of the event. 44 students from 14 schools participated in the quiz ably conducted by the convenor Shri S.V. Nagaraj. Prizes were distributed by Chief Guest Shri Ranganath, Asst. Education Officer, Govt. of Karnataka and Shri A.S. Nataraj, zonal secretary. Florence High School, Basaveshwarnagar, Bangalore bagged the first prize in senior category, and RNS Vidyanikethan in Juinor category.

 

Dharwad, Karnataka North : Branch organised BKJ questionnaire competition on 13.09.2009 at Mallasajjan High School, Maratha colony. Shri Vidyapathi Havanur conducted the programme while Shri L.S. Desai, inaugurated the programme. Shri. V.S. Hiremath was the chief guest and it was presided over by Shri R.B. Dhongade.

 

Dhubri, Assam West : The state level BKJ quiz competition was held at District library auditorium on 1st Nov, 2009. Shri Deepak Kumar Barthakur, National Vice President was the inaugurator and chief guest of the inaugural session. Mrs. Indira Barthakur presided over the inaugural session. Altogether 23 teams from different parts of the state participated in the competition. In the senior group teams from DPS Dhaligaon, S.P. English Medium School, Dhubri and Srimanta Sankardev Academy, Guwahati got the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. In the Junior group teams from Don Bosco, panbazar, Guwahati, Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Kalipur, Guwahati and S.P. English Medium School, Dhubri got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
