South-I, Punjab East :
Branch organized a tree plantation programme in Government Model Senior
Secondary School Karasan on 12.08.2011. Ajay Dutta (N.S. Vistar) was the Chief
Guest. Ashok Bharadwaj Chief Manager, State Bank of Patiala, was the Guest of
Honour. 50 very useful and medicinal plants were planted in the school. Shri T.R.
Wadhwa (President) G.D. Sood (Secretray) and R.C. Luthra, (Treasurer) of the
branch participated in the programme.

Hajipur,
punjab norh :
On 27th
August
the branch organised a seminar on 'How to make Environment pollution free' in
Sarvhitkari Vidya Mandir. Santosh Sharma Vikas Rattan and patron presided over
this fuction. Hukam Chand D.S.C.O. Hoshiarpur and Er. Keshav SCO also attended
this function as chief guest and special guest. S. Satwant Singh (retired) was
specially invited. 12 students spoke on above topic. S. Satwant Singh discussed
the causes that pollute our environment and measures to make it pollution free.
Pawan Gill science teacher conducted a quiz on this topic. All participants were
honoured.In the end 150 saplings of different species of plants were planted in
school premises.
Dr. Kitchlu,
Ludhiana :
Branch organised a water conservation and save water campaign. R.P. Gupta was
the Director of the project. The message on 'save water save future' and 'save
water save life' has gone well among over 2,200 persons through various
functions in schools and other places. The speakers namely Sh. R. P. Gupta, Dr.
DRC Bakhetia, Sh. Ravinder Mittal, Mrs. Aruna Puri, Mrs. S. Sud, and Er. BK
Bhalla told about the depleting water resources and need to adopt the measures
for water saving such as not leaving any tap loose or leaking in our houses and
in public places, not using rubber/plastic pipe for car washing, using buckets
with smaller mugs rather than showers for bathing, resolving to use water most
judiciously and need-based. Various banners and placards with slogans, messages
for water saving were displayed during the function.
Madurai,Tamil Nadu :
The 18th
Tree
plantation function was held on 18.09.2011 at Mukkudi village in Sivaganga
about 17 kms where 200 trees of various varieties were planted. The program was
sponsored by Raj teachers tranining college and the college students were also
involved. Dr. Sivagurunathan a homeopath is the driving force behind this
project.

Silchar, Assam :
Branch in its commitment on World Environment Day planted 150 saplings in and
around Desh Bhakta Tarun Ram Pukan School. BVP members, all teachers & students
participated in tree plantation programme. I.B.Ubhadia President of the branch
spoke on the subject "Climate Change" & "Carbon foot print." Trees absorb Carbon
Dioxide from atmosphere that is why plantation of trees is stressed to mitigate
global warming. He also asked all to reduce use of electricity and water.
Idar, Gujarat Central
: Branch
celebrated 10th July 2011 with a visit to Govt. Civil Hospital and distributed
fruits and biscuits to poor patients and after visiting civil Hospital 10 big
trees were planted at Jwanpura village road.
Manimajra, Chandigarh,
Punjab East :
To make the environment clean and green, the Modern Housing Complex
branch organised
a tree plantation at Vedas Gurukul on 29-08-2011. As many as 30 ornamental and
shadow saplings were planted. Pots were also given to the school. Amita Rana and
Rhea Jawanda both students of the school spoke about the "Vanmahotsav". Principal
Poonam Katoch lauded the efforts of the Parishad for taking such projects. S.C.
Sethi, Retd.GM, Sugarfed was the chief guest. He donated Rs. 31007/- for the
noble projects. The function was presided over by
K.M.S Nambiar,
Patron, BVP State. Vinod Jaidka, Gen. Secretary conducted the programme and
Rakesh Sehgal, Secretary Zone-I gave the vote of thanks.
Chandigarh south-I :
Branch organized a tree plantation programme in Government Model Senior

Sector-35 was the Guest of Honour. 50 very useful and medicinal plants were
planted in the school by children and NSS volunteers. They took oath to look
after these trees. The children under the guidance of Paramjeet Kaur, teacher of
the school also presented an interesting cultural programme. About 25 members
participated.
Jammu & Kashmir:
Branch as of J&K launched plantation drive from 11th August to 5th September
2011.Satya Nand Sharma State Patron/Chairman Rampur Gadwal village and Ex.
National Secretary Praudh Sanskar, coordinated among social forestry deptt.
Horticulture, Parks and garden and also Prant and branch level functionaries.
Gandhinagar :
Dr D.R. Kotwal State President inaugurated the program by planting plants at
Railway Middle School and S.O.S High School followed by Prof. S.C. Anand, A.K.
Khajuria Secretary SOS home and Madam Principal of Railway middle school. Branch
found out another venue of industrial pollution at Phallan Mandal Distt. Jammu
for plantation. On the advice of S.N. Sharma and Vijay Sharma, Vikram Chowdhary
youngest entrepreneur, planted 125 shady, ornamental and medicinal plants in the
industrial area.
Swami Viveka Nand Branch
In Chander Vidya Mandir Sainik colony and Asha Ram Bapu Ashram at the Bank of
Tawi 150 plants were planted in the school and 300 at the Ashram which is a
basic camp for Amarnnath Yatra. Indu Bhushan also planted 30 plants in the parks
of Shastri Nagar. So S.V.N. branch planted 480 plants. Trikuta Nagar and
Trikuta Nagar Bahu planted 15 plants at Shiv Sec-3 and Sai Temple at Trikuta
Nagar Ext.
Rampur, Gadwal
Grameen :
Shri Mubarak Singh, District Development Commissioner, Samba inaugurated the
campaign on 26th August,
2011 by planting plants at Govt. Middle School, Gadwal, Govt Primary School,
Rampur and at road side of the village in the presence of office bearers of
Branch. Dr D.R.Kotwal, State President, Sh Suresh Gupta, Zonal Organising
Secretary and Sh Ved Parkash Sharma, State Project Convener also planted the
plants and addressed the farmers and students of the schools. Sh S.N. Sharma,
Chairman and Incharge of Village Project, welcomed the Chief Guest and also
reported about the work done in the adopted village Rampur Gadwal by Dr. Jindal
Trust, Canada). He also expressed that during 2009-10 500 plants, 2010-11, 1000
plants and during the current season 200 plants of shady, ornamental, medicinal
value were planted by the villagers and 200 fruit plants i.e. 100 of Amla, 50
Guava and 50 of Lemon were distributed by the District Development Commissioner,
Samba on the spot for planting in the village.

Nabha, Punjab East :
Branch celebrated tree plantation day on 31.07.2011 in the campus of PPM
Charitable eye and general hospital. Fifty tree saplings were planted on the
occasion by the members. Pradeep Kumar Bishnoi was the chief speaker and he
delivered a lecture on the 'importance of protecting and planting trees'.
Sangrur :
Branch organised Van Mahotsav by planting 25 trees in the main park of Capt.
Karam Singh Nagar of Improvement Trust, under the presidentship of Vivek Deep
Bansal. Branch organises this project every year, but since last 3 years this
project is being organised in the loving memory of Parshotam Lal Bansal father
of Vivek Deep Bansal on his birthday. Dr. Enu Singla Chairperson Improvement
Trust, Sangrur also participated in the programme as a special guest.
Nangal :
In the month of July, about two hundred plants of various varieties were planted
in Nangal & its adjoining areas such as village Talwara, Dobetta, Sadhewal,
Lower Daroli, Mangewal & Patti etc. Some special type of plants like Aerocoria &
Amarpali Mango were also planted. Wherever the above mentioned plants have been
planted, the locals have been requested to keep a watch on the newly planted
plants and it has also been requested that timely watering and protection from
the animal and other proper care may please be taken .
Hajipur, Punjab
North :
Branch organised a seminar on the 'Need for Environment Conservation' in govt.
girls high school on 16th
July
2011. Branch secretary stressed the need on the conservation of natural
resources like Air, water and soil. Shivani warned about the serious threat
posed by the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides in
Agriculture. Rajni told about various pollutants which are poisoning air water
and soil. Shri Surinder Mohan asked all the students to plant at least one plant
every year & protect it. The students of this school held a rally in streets and
raised slogans to protect environment.
Madhu Vihar, Delhi
East :
Branch organised tree plantation on 7th August 2011 at Dr. Hedgewar Park,
Mandavli under the leadership of their President Shri Hemant Kumar Gupta. The
branch has taken up this project on friendship day as trees are our real friends
which give us fresh air, preserve water during rainy days, give fruits. MLC Tej
Pal Singh invited all local residents to keep their areas clean and assured for
his cooperation. The organizer of this Project and Treasurer Abhay Jain
distributed the sweets and fruits to all.
UNA, Himachal
Pradesh :
Branch planted about 25 trees such as mangoes, bel, neem etc. at the premises of
Baba Balak Nath temple at village samoor kalan near Una. Dr. Akshey Sharma told
about the importance of trees in fighting pollution & food chain initiator.

Bhubaneswar Central, Odisha :
On 13.07.2011 Vanmahotsav (tree plantation) was celebrated in the campus of
Hirapur UGUP School near a historical shrine of prehistoric age of 64 Yoginis.
154 school children and 7 teachers of the school alongwith members of main
branch participated. 32 tree species of medicinal, ornamental, fragrant sweet
smelling plants including some valuable timber species were planted. Sweets and
biscuits were distributed to all school children.

Greater Kailash-I, Delhi South : 219
shrubs/trees of 10 varieties were planted in Astha Kunj near Nehru Place, with
the assistance of the branch's Vice President, Shri P.S. Bhatnagar, Ex.
Director, DDA Horticulture.
Trikuta, Jammu & Kashmir : Branch
jointly with Bahu branch conducted Van Mahotsava on 8th Sptember 10 at Apna Ghar
(a destitute home for orphan girls of Kargil war victims). 40 saplings of
various medicinal plants like Tulsi, Amla, Alovera & other fruits were planted.
Besides tree plantation lawn of 'Apna Ghar' is also being maintained by us as a
permanent project. This function was graced by Secretary of Apna Ghar, Mrs Rita
Jitinder, Mrs Kohli, Prof. Suresh Gupta and members of both branches.

Brahmapur, Orissa : Branch observed
Vana Mahotsav on July 25 when more than 50 saplings were planted in and around
the branch building at Vikas marg. Shri Siba Shankar Das, Mayor of Municipal
Corporation was the Chief Guest and former Chairman, Development Authority Sri
Sarat Ranjan Patnaik was the Guest of honour. The local corporators, B.D.A.
Secretary and a large number of local people participated in the programme.
Inderpuri, Delhi North : Branch
organised tree plantation on 22nd Aug. in RA Block Park. Hon'ble Suraj Kumar,
Nigam Parshad was the Chief Guest. Arrangements were also made to distribute
Shyama tulsi plant to all the members of the branch.
Shalmala, Dharwad, Karnataka North :
Branch arranged a programme on the open grounds of KNK Girls High School by
inviting the artists to educate the children in protecting the environment. A
road show with the artist was the special attraction. Shri Pandit Muniji the
great environmental expert spoke on the occasion and impressed upon the children
to devote their energy in protecting the environment for the future generation.
Grow trees, protect trees and save water from pollution
was his appeal.
Mahabubnagar, A.P. West : Branch
organised tree plantation at padmavati colony. It was presided over by Shri G.
Parduranagam, President. Local MLA N Rajeshwar Reddy was the Chief Guest. 101
members including office bearers attanded this programme.
Rampur, Gadwal, Jammu & Kashmir : 5
schools of Rampur, Gudwal and surrounding villages took part in a contest on
environment protection held at Middle School, Gudwal. 110 Plantation drive for
the protection of inauguration by the Hon'ble Minister, by planting mango trees
in the school. 100 plants Shady ornamenta, medicainal and 50 for mango plants
were planted under drive.

Pilani, Rajasthan North East : Tree
plantation on the road leading to the Pahadi Temple was done on 15th August 2010
under the leadership of Dr. R.P. Pareek. The function was graced by the presence
of Shri Jagdish Soni, District Coordinator BVP Jhunjhunu. Patron of the branch
Shri R.P. Dada inaugurated it by planting the first sapling followed by senior
members of the Parishad and prominent citizens of Pilani along with their family
members. Senior Journalist Shri Kailash Pati Runthala appreciated various
initiatives taken by the Parishad and wished them all the best. Dr. R.P. Pareek
assured all that proper care will be taken of the saplings so that they grow
properly. Tree guards were installed by the help of donors.
Suratgarh, Rajasthan North : Thermal
colony planted approx. 100 trees of Ashok, Neem and Sisam in Village Somasar,
Raiyanwali and 185 Rd. Villagers have taken responsibility for their safety &
watering etc.
Magadh, North Bihar : Branch celebrated
Environment Day under tree plantation programme on 22.08.2010 at Shiv Mandir,
located in the foot hills of Brahmyoni hills of Gaya Cantonment area. Shri
Pradeep Kumar President of Magadh Prant, Prof. Biswanath Prasad Verma, Shri
Shyam Narain Singh, Zonal Secretary Audit, Shri Jai Ram Singh, General
Secretary, Shri D.K. Sharma President of Magadh branch. Shri Suresh Prasad,
Convenor, Environment and other distinguished guests were present. About 100
trees were planted of various kinds.
Bahu, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu & Kashmir :
Branches jointly conducted the plantation drive in the premises of APNA GHAR,
a short stay home for destitute women of Kargil conflict. Prof. Reeta Jatinder
Secretary of Apna Ghar was the Chief Guest. She said that Apna Ghar is run by
ASHI Jammu in collaboration with Ministry of HRD. Different species of plants
were planted by Prof. Reeta Jatinder and others.
Karimganj, Assam
: Branch observed Earth Day on 25th August, 2010 with great enthusiasm amongst
the members. On the occasion 10 saplings of different kinds of trees were
planted in the campus of Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Solan, Himachal
Pradesh :
Branch distributed Tulsi plants to the public free of cost under the chairmanship
of Shri Brij Sirkek and Er. R.K. Nayyar for three days between 17 July to 19th
July. The literature in the form of handout compiled from various sources
containing details regarding Tulsi plant, its uses, the precautions and common
beliefs, was also distributed along with Tulsi plant in order to increase
awareness regarding the qualities of Tulsi in our everyday life. Branch organized
Tree plantation on 25th July under the chairmanship of Er. D.R. Gupta. Forty two
members, particularly lady members, participated in this project.

(Mumbai), Maharashtra-I :
Approximately 2000
tulsi saplings were distributed. Inspite of heavy rainfall members & people were
standing in queue just to take tulsi sapling. Brochure'sof tulsi advantage & how
to take care of it were also distributed with each sapling of tulsi. 1500 tulsi
saplings were distributed at Laxminarayan Temple & 500 at Ganesh Temple at
Kranti Nagar sponsored by Surajmal Luhariwala Charity Trust.
Mira Road East :
On 10th July, the foundation day was celebrated by planting Neem and Gulmohar
Trees both at Nityanand Nagar and Poonam Garden locality. Incidentally in July
2010 branch has completed 10 years of its successful working. On 22nd July
branch distributed free 250 plants of Tulsi to its members and their friends.
These were provided by Shri. K.K. Agarwal Zonal Secretary, Sanskar, of J.B.
Nagar, Andheri branch.
Navi Mumbai :
In coordination with Prant, particularly with the help of Shri K.K. Agarwal we
distributed 500 Tulsi saplings at three pre-selected premises in Vashi area on
21st July 2010 being Devshayani Ashadi Ekadashi. Apart from distribution, we
explained to the devotees the importance of Tulsi with respect to its religious
as well as medicinal values.

Punjab East :
Branch arranged tree plantation programme and a lecture on Enviromental problems
by Shri Surinder K. Garg on the occasion of Vanmahotsav on 24.07.2010. Around
150 trees were planted in Dayanand Public School, Silver City premises by about
70 members and their families.

Punjab North :
On 23.07.2010 branch arranged a tree plantation programme, where more than 350
plants were planted. The programme was presided over by Sh. Harvinder Singh
Chaudhary Prant Convenor Vikas Mitra and the chief guest was Sh. K.D. Bhandari,
local M.L.A.
Hazaribag,
Jharkhand :
A Tree plantation program was organised at Masipirhi on 11 July 2010 when more
than 200 trees were planted. In the evening a cultural program was also
organised and 25 participants were felicitated.
Shivalik, Jammu &
Kashmir :
During the current rainy season, members of branch conducted tree plantation
drive in JP World High School on 17th July located at Chhanni Himmat under the
guidance of Dr. D.R. Kotwal State Vice President. 50 plants were planted.

Agartala :
On 12.06.2010 East & West Branches jointly organized a Tree Plantation function
at Gandhigram Tripureswari Shishu Mandir School. The State President of Tripura
Sh. Dhirendra Kalai presided over the function. The Chief guest and a great
scholar Bharat Gaurav Prof. Sitanath Dey was the main speaker. The eminent
scholar and educationist Smt. Manjulika Deb Barman was the soul behind the
function. The secretary of the school committee and the Principal Smt. Rina
Majumder were also present and helped the BVP in all respects to conduct the
said Tree Plantation. Various fruits and flower plants were planted at
appropriate places in the school garden.
Guwahati :
Branch celebrated "World
Environment Day" by arranging a program of plantation of variety of saplings in
the campus of Pub-Guwahati High School, Jyotinagar, Guwahati on the 5th day of
June, 2010 with active participation of the teaching staff and students of the
school. Senior members of the Branch explained the necessity of plantation of
trees and their preservation.
