Primary purpose
Primary purpose of this programme is to STREGTHEN in the
minds of children the idea of respecting their
parents & teachers, whose blessings will enable
them to be successful in life.
Under this programme, the representatives of Bharat
Vikas Parishad visit selected Schools, Colleges or
any other Institutions (SCIs) in and around their
areas to express thanks and gratitude to the teachers
and congratulate the meritorious students. The most
important aspect of the program that makes it a Special
one is that the students are encouraged to take the
Blessings of teachers & parents by touching their Feet.
This is extremely important to redevelop the fast
deteriorating Teacher – Student relationship and
inculcate humbleness in the mind of children.
The Procedure for conducting
the Program,
(Preferably, in General Assembly of Students in the
presence of the parents of Awardee students)
- Welcome
by SCI Principal or the Head.
- Brief
Introduction of BVP and its activities at Centre,
Prant and Branch levels - by BVP Member/s.
- Talk on
“Significance of Parent / Teacher / Student
relationship” by a BVP Member.
- Taking of
Oath by all the persons attending the
Program.
- BVP Members
honoring School Principal and the Trustees.
- BVP Members
honoring selected Students by giving them
certificates. (Criteria for selection of Students is
mentioned below.)
- Vote of
Thanks - by BVP Member
- All the
students offer flowers to all their Teachers as a mark
of respect and take their Blessings by touching their
Feet.
- In case of
large numbers, the students are divided in several
groups to take blessings from 1 or 2 teachers and the
seating arrangement should be made accordingly to save
time and chaos.
- Every Branch
organises a separate program of Teachers Meet at one
place for honouring the Teachers of all the SCIs they
have covered.

C. Whose efforts have been recognized / awarded / honoured
by Central / State / Prestigious Institutions / Body in any
field.
D. Who has been sent abroad in Teachers Exchange Program?
E. Who has authored books or written articles for good
causes.
F. Who have excelled in any extra- curricular activities?
G. Whose subject result was 100% in the last
Board/University/Institution Examination
For Students:
A. Who has stood First in the Class.
B. Who is School Captain or House Captain or Sports Captain,
etc.
C. Who has participated in the National / State Parade on
Independence Day or Republic Day (15th August or 26th
January )
D. Who has scored highest marks in the school in any subject
in the Board / University / Institution Examinations.
E. Who has won at any National / State / Prestigious
Competitions
F. Who has been honoured by Central / State / Prestigious
Institutions
G. Who possess Extra-ordinary talent in Sports, Cultural
Activities, Painting, Arts & Crafts, Music, Debate, etc.
H. Who has taken part in NCC, Junior Red Cross, Scouts &
Guides, Mountaineering etc.
The programme should be
held during the period 1st April to 15th October and a
report sent to Prant by 31st October.

Vidyaranya, Karnataka South : GVCA programme was conducted by Vidyaranaya
Shakha, Vijaynagar, Bangalore at Govt. High School, Magadi Road on 2nd
January,2010. Three teachers were honoured by the students as part of Guru
Vandan and twelve outstanding students in various subjects (drawn from six High
and Primary Schools) were in turn felicitated and blessed by the teachers as
part of Chhatra-Abhinandana programme and suitable mementos were presented to
all. Short speeches highlighting the importance of the event were delivered by
President Shri B.V. Rao, programme adviser Shri K.V. Narahari and the event
concluded with feedback speeches by the students.

Malerkotla,
Punjab East :
Branch honoured most talented students of 25 schools and 5 eminent teachers from
different schools. Branch organized a free Eye Operation camp in which 565
patients were examined by the team of doctors from C.M.C. Hospital Ludhiana. Eye
medicines were provided to all the patients.
Dr. Kitchlu, Punjab
North :
Branch organized GVCA on 03.10.2009 at Govt. Primary School. The selected
students of the school, who had topped in their classes in the last academic
session, worshipped their teachers in traditional style and the teachers
bestowed their blessings on them. On this occasion Gandhi Jayanti and the
Birthday of Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri were also celebrated. The programme was
conducted by Mrs. Neelam Thapar, branch Secretary.

Ambabari Jaipur,
Rajasthan North & East :
Branch organized GVCA on 05.09.09 at five different schools in the area. The
function was attended by 15 Parishad executives & members.
Bhagat Singh, (Jaipur),
Rajasthan North & East :
Branch organised GVCA at Arvind Public School, Sirsi Road, Jaipur functioning in
rural area. Every year this function was organized in metro schools but this
year programme was organized in rural areas about 25 KM away from the city. The
programme, which was held on the 24th September, 2009 was presided over by the
Principal of the school, who in his presidential address highlighted the
significance of the Guru, Parents and Children particularly their duties towards
well being of the humanity. On this occasion 15 teachers and 15 students were
honoured for their excellent performance in their respective areas. Function was
attended by 800 students, 75 teachers and 120 guests including office bearers
and members of the branch. Shri Brij Kishore Sharma, Minister for Transport,
Government of Rajasthan graced the occasion.
Dr. Kitchlu,
Ludhiana, Punjab North :
Branch organised the GVCA programme in two schools namely, Shaiwal Public, Amrit
Colony, and Shaiwal high school, Rishinagar, Ludhiana. In both the programmes,
700 students, 29 teachers, and 24 member families participated and contributed
in various events. The student securing 1st position in their previous classes
in session 2008-09 were honoured on this occasion. The speakers Dr. DRC Bakhetia,
Dr. V.K. Kakkar, Mr. Ravinder Mittal, Mrs. Alka Mehan, and other dignitaries
were present on this occasion.
C-2, Janakpuri,
Delhi
South :
Branch organized the above programme in two Primary Schools of Janakpuri. One of
the function was organized in the main hall of the school and presided over by
Smt. Vinod Bala Principal of MCD Primary School. 18 teachers were honoured with
the certificates and an office table was presented to the school on their
demand. The second function was organized in the main hall under the
chairmanship of Smt. Usha Rani, Principal Adarsh Vidyalaya of the school who
welcomed us. The school has about 450 students but only 22 students from all
classes were invited & honoured in the function. The students presented variety
programme of songs and patriotic drama and one religious skit with song. The
meritorious students were honoured with prizes and 17 teachers were awarded
certificates appreciating their services along with gifts.
GVCA was organized
in two MCD Primary Schools which have been opted by the branch viz MCD Primary
School and Nigam Prathmik Adarsh Vidyalaya, on 18-09-09. The students who stood
1st & 2nd in their respective sections of the class were honoured with suitable
prizes along with suitable gifts. In all 47 students were honoured & greeted
from both the schools. Similarly. 35 teachers (17+18) from both schools were
honoured and felicitated for their services.
Janakpuri (Main)
: GVCA programme was organised in 2 schools by honouring 58 teachers.
Greater Kailash :
GVCA was held on 05.09.09 (teachers day) in D.A.V. Public school, Kailash hills,
New Delhi in the general Assembly of the school. Nearly 800 students, 45
teachers, 15 parents and 10 Adhikaries of the branch including Shri D.N. Grover,
national secretary PR BVP were present. The Principal of the school Mrs. Ira
Khanna welcomed all to the function and described some of the achievements, both
academic and co curricular, and appealed for BVP's greater role in school's
activities. The meeting was addressed by Shri R.C. Puri, advisor, Shri V.P.
Agarwal President, Smt. Promila Grover, Treasurer intimating, among other
matters, significance of teacher's day, aims and activities of BVP and
significance of Guru Shishya parents relationship respectively. 5 brilliant
students and 7 able teachers were honoured with garlands, certificates and
mementoes. Oath was administered to all by Shri M.L. Raina, Vice President.
Leaflets on BVP's aims and activities were distributed to students and others.
Madhu Vihar, Delhi
East : On
4th Sept. 09 branch organised GVCA at MCD Primary School, Mandawli No. 1, Delhi
and gave certificates and trophy to two teachers and two students. On that day,
we also honoured Hindi Press reporters. Students organised cultural programme.
On 5 th Sept. 2009 branch again organised GVCA at MCD Primary School, Joshi
colony, Delhi and gave certificates and trophies to four teachers and two
students.
Chandrasekharpur
Bhubaneswar, Orissa :
GVCA was conducted on 12 September, 2009 at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir SSVM,
Niladri Vihar NV, BBSR with Shri D.N. Das, President in the chair. Dr. Basant
Kumar Panda, Professor, Regional Institute of Education and Prof. Khitish
Chandra Das, Utkal University, were chief guest and guest of Honour
respectively. Shri Ketan Kumar Nayak, Pradhnachraya Priyambada Prida were also
felicitated.
Kapila, Nanjangud,
Karnataka South
: Branch honoured 20 teachers and 16 students. The function was held at
Heggwdahalli village Govt. Primary and High School premises on 16.09.09. 709
persons were present on this ocassion. Branch convener for GVCA N. Mahadeva
coordinated the programme.
Raichur, Karnataka
North :
On 15th Sep. 09 GVCA was organized at Kakatiya Residential School. 300 students
participated in the programme and 150 members & invitees attended the function.
Five teachers known for their service & sincerity etc. from various schools were
selected for accepting GV. Shri Chakravathi President Sanskar Bharathi
(Karnataka, Kerala, T.N, A.P.) was chief guest on the occasion.

A Block, Janakpuri, Delhi South :
During August, 2009 GVCA programme was organized
in 5 schools adopted by the branch in their respective assemblies. 79
meritorious students along with64 outstanding teachers were honoured in the
presence of 5567 students and 37 members of this branch. On this memorable
occasion 33 monthly scholarships and 109 one time awards in kind were also
awarded to the Toppers for their excellent performance in Board examination for
the year 2008-09, thereby spending Rs. 26987/- on this account.
B-Block, Janakpuri :
The branch conducted GVCA programme in seven
major schools with a total student strength of 8900 and 400 teachers.
Madhu Vihar, Delhi East :
On 4th Sept. 09, the branch organised GVCA at a
school in, Mandawali, Delhi and gave certificates and trophy to Two Teachers and
students. On that day, Hindi Press reporters were also honoured. On 5th Sept 09,
GVCA was organised in Primary School, Hoshi colony, Delhi. Certificates and
trophy were given to four Teacher students. On that day, a talk was given on
road safety for students as well as for others.
Ramkrishna, Kanpur, Brahmavart :
Organised the programme in Lion's Club Seva Sansthan, Raniganj, Kanpur. The
students who obtained highest marks in class 10th and 12th of 20 Sen.Sec.
Schools and their best teachers were invited and honoured with gifts and
mementoes. Prominent educationists of the city viz Prof Dr. U.B. Tewari from IIT
Kanpur was Chief Guest. Rashtrapati Awardee and a member of Parliament Sri Raja
Ram Pal also attended the function.
Suratgarh, Rajasthan North :
Ten teachers & 50 students were honoured on teachers day on 5.9.09. On this
occasion, a total of 25 schools were selected in which 50 teachers & 50
meritorious students were honoured by giving certificates & gifts.
Badrayana, Karnataka South :
Organised GVCA karyakram at Vasavi Vidyaniketan
School on 11th September 2009. Four teachers and three children were honoured
with a small gift. 640 children, 42 teachers, 5 parents and 8 BVP members were
present on this occasion.
Sandipani :
Celebrated GVCA on 22.08.09 at Shri
Yogishwarnanda Shala, Bangalore. About 450 students, 18 teachers and about 20
parents participated in the function. One senior teacher and five good students
were honoured on this occasion.
Samanamandi , Punjab East :
Branch celebrated GVCA on 05.09.09 at Dayanand Model School, Samana. Seven
teachers and Five students were honoured of various schools of this city. Sh.
Prem Goyal retd. Inspector Home Guard was the chief guest.
Bokaro Thermal, Jharkhand :
Branch performed GVCA 2009 programe on the auspicious day of 5th September 09 at
two schools. In the first programme five teachers including Principal A.K. Singh
and five meritorious students were honored in the presence of about 2000
students and 60 teachers at Pitts Modern school Gomia by offering them sriphal,
books and garlands by the President Er. A.P. Singh Sec. P.K. Ambastha, Convener
Er. S. Mishra, G. Kumar & Er. R.P. Singh. Second programme was performed at
Krishna Sudrashan central school Khas Mahal where two teachers including Vice
Principal Smt. Mamta Singh and five talented students of different fields were
honoured in the presence of 700 students and 30 teachers.
Bhubaneswar Main, Orissa :
The branch held its GVCA event on 5 Sep. 09 in
the University High School inside Utkal University campus on Guru Divas Sri.
R.N. Jena, Sri. L.D. Behera, both Head Masters of school and retired head master
Sri S. Mishra besides Art Teacher Sri N.C. Das were honored with flowers, shawl,
mementos etc. They also felicitated 4 students of exceptional merit.
Karimganj, Assam :
Branch observed GVCA on 5th September 09 in a befitting manner at sishukalyan M.E.
School, Putimara. 02 teachers and 4 students were felicitated by the Parishad
for their contribution in the field of educational and extra curricular
activities. One of the convener of mahila vibhag, Smt. Ratna Paul of the
Parishad presented a brief life sketch of Dr. Radhakrishanan with his ideal and
philosophy. An oath was taken by students, teachers, guardians and other present
there including Parishad members.
Patan, North Gujarat:
Branch completed the GVCA programme in 32 schools of the city & surrounding
villages from 4th July to 11th July 2009. Approximately 14000 students were
actively involved in this programme. During this programme 153 brilliant
students & 26 teachers were honoured.
Agartala West & East :
Branch celebrated the great teacher's day utshav as GVCA on 12.09.09 at Tulakona
high school Champamura village which is 15 KM from Agartala city. Sh. Jatindra
Dev Varma headmaster presided over the function. The special guest and the main
speaker of the function was Bharat Gaurav Prof. Sitanath Dey who delivered his
invaluable speech in the hall on relation between the Guru and Chhatra. All the
16 madhyamik passed students and 15 teachers were awarded a Dictionary and one
pen each.

Moga, Punjab South : Branch organised Guru Vandan Chhatra Abhinandan in
which Two retired teachers of Moga Distt.Shri S.P.Kataria and Sh. Joginder Singh
Lohat National Awardee were honoured for their services in education sector.
Parishad also honoured school staff and Principal of Navyugh Shishu Mandir and
its six meritorious students.
Malerkotla, Punjab East :
During GVCA 75 students and 5 teachers of different schools were honoured. State
Bank of Patiala, Malerkotla main branch provided financial help for this
project. A.G.M. of State Bank of Patiala was the chief guest of this function.

Janakpuri (Main) Delhi South :
Branch celebrated GVCA on 6th & 8th September 2008 in 3 schools by honouring 25
teachers and distributed scholarships to 20 students for the month of August &
September. The main speaker was Shri Sh. M.L. Gaur, member National Governing
Board.
On
27th September 2008 a Heart Check up Camp was organised in-coordination with
Escorts Heart Institute at Shri Sanatan Dharm Mandir. The Chief Guests of the
programme were Sh. H.L. Malhotra, Industrialist and eminent social worker,
and Shri P.R. Sahni, Chairman MCD Education Committee. The Guest of honour was Dr. Meena
Thakur, Ex. MCD Councillor.
Janakpuri C-2 Branch:
The Branch celebrated GVCA in two schools of MCD : first on 11th Spt. 08 in the
MCD primary school, Possangipur. 425 students and all the 14 teachers were
present. On 12th Sp. 08 in MCD Primary School, C2 Block, Janakpuri, where the
students welcomed the office bearers of BVP by beating drums and showered
flowers on them. 600 students and 20 teachers were present in the function.
Students sang patriotic songs and small children gave dance performance. 54
students and 34 teachers were awarded mementoes and certificates for their good
work.
Greater Kailash :
Organised GVCA function on 12th September, 2008 in Veer Savarkar Government
Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya No.1, Kalkaji, New Delhi. The function was held in
General Assembly where 1600 students, 26 teachers, 10 parents and 9 members of
BVP were present. 4 selected students and 12 teachers including Principal were
honoured for their merit and meritorious services.
A-Block, Janakpuri :
Branch organized GVCA programme in all the eight schools adopted by it in their
respective school assemblies. 79 meritorious students and 64 outstanding
teachers were also honoured. An impressive number of 6164 students along with
their teachers participated in the programme. 39 one time awards and 29 monthly
scholarships were given away at this memorable occasion. 132 children of MCD
primary schools from the weaker sections of our society were provided with
Exercise Books and stationery also, under our Bal Kalyan Yojana. The total
expenditure incurred by this branch on this meaningful programme was about
Rs.36364/-.
Bicholim, Goa :
Branch organized GVCA at Government Primary School, on 18th July wherein 11
primary school teachers and 15 students were felicitated. On 30th August GVCA
was organized at Sh. Shantadurga High School, 7 Sr. teachers and 20 students
were felicitated. Vidya Bharati Pracharak Sh. Dilip Betkekar, Chief Guest spoke
on this occasion.
Mahabubnagar (Andhra Pradesh West) :
Branch organised GVCA at Six High Schools in rural areas on 15th, 16th, 17th
Sept. 2008. Members of BVP spoke on the following topics in all these schools (i)
introduction of BVP : its Philosophy and activities. (ii) Importance of Guru,
Chhatra relations from the ancient time. (iii) General advice to the children
regarding their all round development of personality and character building.
Teachers were honoured with a shawl and memento. Students were awarded books
based on the life and teaching of Swamy Vivekanand.
Badrayana Shakha (Bangalore) :
In Sept. monthly meeting, demonstration on free hand paintings by Smt. Shyla
Prasad, Udaya TV artist and Fevicryl consultant was organised. Programme
attracted many ladies who tried their hand control by drawing single strokes. 28
members were present.
GVCA
Karyakram was held at Vijaya High School premises on 12th September. The entire
programme was conducted by children of the School. Four teachers, four children
and one Lab assistant were recognized and honoured. More than 900 children
participated.
Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana (Punjab):
Branch conducted GVCA programme
on 20-09-2008 in Shaiwal High School, Amrit Colony. After paying respects to
the teachers by garlanding them and getting blessings from the teachers the oath
was administered to the students by Dr. V.K. Kakkar, Patron. The toppers in
classes K.G. to VII were honoured and the outstanding teachers were felicitated.
Mrs. Alka Mehan, Principal of the school spoke on the importance and
significance of Guru in one's life and praised the efforts of the BVP in
inculcating values in the lives of the youth.
On
this occasion, third phase of Sakhsharta Abhiyan was also conducted. Third
written test of the parents was conducted on 18.09.2008 and the first five
parents and students were given prizes. Token prize was given to each, who had
taken the test. The Chief Guest of the function was Smt. Sneh, Area Concillor,
Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. The function was presided over by Dr. D.R. C.
Bakhetia State Convenor, Sakhsharta Abhiyan.
Karimganj (Assam):
Branch observed GVCA on 5th and 6th September 2008 in 5 schools. 12 teachers and
15 students were felicitated for their contribution in the field of education
and extra curricular activities. An oath was taken by all for the presevation of
national integration of India and leaflets on the life and philosophy of Dr.
Radhakrishnan and the activities of BVP, were also distributed. 1017 teachers
and students and 407 guardians were present on this occasion. Sweets were
distributed at the different schools.
Dharwad Branch (Karnataka Uttar) :
Felicitated special Educator/Teacher of Mamta School for Mentally Retarded
children on 6th Sept. 2008 in the school premises. Sr. Wilson Mailey, President
of the Teachers Association was Chief Guest and branch President Sri. B.K. Kale
presided over the function. Five lady teachers for special children of Mamta
School, 4 Helpers, 5 Staff, two mentally retarded children were honoured and a
Memento each was presented to the teachers, students and staff of the
Institution. Sri. Vidyapati Havanur, Secretary welcomed the audience and Sri.
Paranjape spoke about the ideals of the Parishad and its working.

Swargate, Maharashtra-II : GVCA
program was organized in 8
schools during last two months.
About 2500 students, 200 teachers
and
50 members participated.
Greater Kailash-I, Delhi South :
The
branch organised GVCA
function on 4th September, 2008 in
Kautilya Govt. Sarvodya Bal
Vidyalaya,
Chirag Enclave, New Delhi. The aim
and activities of BVP were explained
by the president of the branch Shri
V.P. Agarwal. Significance of Gurus
and
Parents vis-à-vis children was
explained by Smt. Promila Grover,
Treasurer.
The programme was presided by the
school principal, Dr. Sanjay
Chaturvedi.
1200 students, 80 teachers and 10
parents were stated to be present
in the function besides 12 members
of the branch including Shri D.N. Grover, National Secretary. 5
students and 6 teachers (including
Principal) were felicitated with
garlands and awarded Appreciation
Certificates and Mementoes for their
meritorious performance. Smt. Usha
Rehani, wife of Late L.R. Lehani an
esteemed member donated 138 books
'Bharat Ko Jano' worth about Rs.
2,000/- to the deserving students.
Shri
R.C. Puri administered Oath to all
in the function pledging to lead an
ideal life.
B-Block, Janakpuri : Branch
organized the following three GVCA
programme in general Assemblies of
schools during the month of August:
1). NTR Sr. Sec. School B-3, Block
on 23.08.08. The total
attendance was 1100 students, 55
teachers and 5 BVP members. The
total teachers and students honored
were 5 and 21 respectively Dr.
Meena Thakur a renowned Yogacharya
and Ex Nigam Parshad gave a
very impressive speech.
2). MHDC
Saraswati Vidya Mandir B-1 Block on
27.08.08 the total
attendance was 15 teachers, 150
students and six BVP members. 2
teachers and 10 students were
honored.
Shri B.L. Parashar and R.K. Aggarwal
senior BVP functionaries gave
very impressive speeches.
3). Sumer Mal Jain Public School on
29.08.08. The total attendance
was 50 teachers and 250 students and
7 BVP members. Dr. R.K. Thakur,
Dr. Meena Thakur, Shri R.K. Aggarwal,
Shri P.D. Maheshwari also graced
the occasion. The students honored
were 12.
Panchdeep, Delhi North: GVCA
programme was conducted
on 5th sep., 08 in two schools i.e.
Sarvodya Vidyalaya, Kailash enclave
& Kendriya Vidyalya, Pitampura. 25
teachers & 30 students were honored
with mementoes, gifts &
certificates. Sh. Mahesh Sharma &
R.K. Jain
Gen. Sec. Delhi North attended the
function.
Vivek Vihar, Delhi East : Branch
celebrated GVCA on 5th
Sep.,08 at Premalbai Chavan School
for the Deaf, Karkardooma. On
this day we invited teachers
selected from all the schools of
Deaf in
Delhi State. We honoured 12 teachers
from seven schools for the deaf
with mementos and flower bunches.
Three deaf student, who were
excellent in all activities were
also selected and honoured. All the
participants, teachers and students,
were administered oath.
Smt. Sharda Jain, Mahila Pramukh and
Shri Madan Malik,
Coordinating secretary of Zone were
present and blesed all.
The branch organised this programme
from 2nd to 12th Sep.,08 in
16 different schools. The branch
honoured 40 teachers and 19 students
in the presence of 537 teachers and
11, 936 students altogether.
Jayanagar Bangalore, Karnataka South
: Guruvandana
programme held on 12.09.2008 at
Vijaya High School, near south end,

Chandrasekharpur, Orissa : At 2 PM,
on 5th Sept. 08 a meeting
was organized to conduct GVCA to
promote the age old traditions which
was presided over by Smt. Kumudini
Panda, the branch president
students of VEM School worshipped
all the teachers present as a part
of Guru Vandana. Shri Chandrashekhar
Pati, Director of VEM School
and an eminent the students of
educationist and principal, Shri
B.K.Tripathy, were honoured on this
occasion. Two students were also
felicitated by chief guest, Shri
Nimai Charan Padhi, former DGP.

Vivekanand Hyderabad, A.P. West :
Branch conducted Guru Vandana Chhatrabhinandana programme
from 16th to 19th July 2008 in connection with Guru Poornima
in the four schools. All the teachers of these four schools
were honoured and the meritorious students (toppers) of 9th
& 10th class were awarded prizes. During this programme, the
under privileged students were provided with their school
uniforms. Shri Manthena Venkata Rama Raju, Chairman of
Vasudha Pharma Ltd. and Vasudha Foundation was the Chief
Guest in Sri Sarswathi Vidya Mandir High School. He
distributed note books and biscuit packets to all students
on 18/07/08.
Rajahmundry, A.P. North East
: Branch felicitated 11 teachers at V.T. High School,
Rajahmundry under GVCA project. 10 teachers of V.T. High
school which completed 100 years of existence and 1 teacher
of N.V.I.R. Municipal School were felicitated with shawl,
flowers and memento. 10th class students were given books
under this project. The Chief Guest was Zonal Seva Convener
Shri K.B. Rama Rao.
