Birjhora, Assam : On 19.02.2012 branch
organized a free health check-up cum awareness and medicine distribution camp at
Tea Estate l.P. School. The inhabitants are mostly janajati people and
very poor. 173 patients were examined by honourable Dr. K.N. Devsarma, retd.
Joint Director State health services and Advisor BVP State. He was accompanied
by office bearers & members of the branch. Medicines worth
` 7000/- were
distributed free of cost.
On 19.03.2012 branch organized a camp at Tea
Estate Mazdoor Union Club. One hundred & forty six janajati patients of very
poor financial background were examined by honourable Dr. K.N. Devsarama, retd.
Joint Director State health services and Adviser BVP. He was accompanied by
office bearers & members of the branch. Medicines worth
` 5000/- were
distributed free of cost as per requirement of the patients.
Jorhat : On 26th
February 2012 conducted a health awareness and
health check-up camp at Borkhongia village. 13 doctors extended their services
and about 300 villagers attended the camp and availed themselves of free
medicines. Dr.Ranjeet Baruah offered thanks to all doctors, technicians, people
present for the success of the health camp. The branch also conducted a Rural
Entrepreneurship Development programme on diversification of handloom fabrics in
collaboration with the Numaligarh Oil Refinery, on 6th
and continued till 29th
Feb. 2012 successfully. About 20 village girls,
ladies took part in the training camp. Bharat Baruah IAS (retd.) inaugarted the
camp.
Ambabari, Rajasthan North East : Blood
donation camp was held on 4th
March 2012 in association with Vishwakarma
Industries Association. Sh. Brij Kishore Sharma Hon'ble Minister of Education
was the chief guest. In the camp held for SMS blood bank out of 60 registered
donors 51 unit blood was collected. Gifts & certificates were presented to all
blood donors. Mementos were presented to chief guest & other guests of honour &
SMS blood bank team. The gifts were generously contributed by Sh. Jugal Agarwal
Project Chairman.
Pilani : A health camp was organized on
20th
Feb 2012 in the village Thirpali to celebrate the Golden
Jubilee year of BVP and 150th
Birth year of Swami Ji. The camp was inaugurated by
Sh. Krishan Swaroop Sharma, President of Sewa Bharti. Health awareness was the
main theme of the camp and people were made aware of the harmful effects of
smoking and alcohol. Blood sugar was tested free of cost to screen the diabetes.
Blood pressure was measured in all the adults attending the camp. Medicine was
distributed free of cost after the consultation. Students from the Pharmacy
department of BITS volunteered their services. The team consisted of Vidula,
Amit, Rajat, Gautam, Anand and Vinay Sharma. Shri Sanjay Sarpanch of the village
arranged for the place and other facilities.
Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana, Punjab North :
During February under the mobile clinic project were the 924 beneficiaries at
all eight locations. The total number of visiting patients were 1545, among
which, 91 were new registrations in Smt. Sumitra Devi Aggarwal Homeopathy
Charitable Dispensary. A total number of 506 patients visited the Ayurvedic
dispensary.
Panchkula, Haryana North : Branch held
a dental check up camp in Mera Bachpan School Sector -10 on 06.03.2012 wherein
dental health of 45 children was checked by Dr. Iti. She gave useful tips to the
children on how to maintain healthy teeth by proper brushing and taking healthy
food. On 15.03.2012 Dr. Gursharan Singh checked the general health of the
children of the same school. He advised them to keep away from junk food as much
as possible and eat fruits and vegetables regulary for good health.
Bhubaneswar North, Odisha : A free
health check-up camp was organised at Sahapur in Cuttack district, situated on
the bank of Birupa and the distance of this remote village is about 35 kilo
meters from the district. People of this place depend upon agriculture. Majority
of them are daily labourers. Excepting a health centre which is 7 kilometers
away from this place no other medical facility is availabe at this area. Branch,
therefore, selected this place to conduct a health camp on 14th
March. We with a team of doctors arrived at a
community hall of the village for the purpose. Doctors from different
disciplines examined 128 poor needy patients who are suffering from different
kinds of seasonal diseases. A pharmacist provided by the C.D.M.O. Cuttack went
on distributing medicines.
Vatva, Amdavad,
Gujarat Central
: Branch organized 8th eye camp on 22nd January 2012 at Jalaram Temple, (Tribal
area of Isanpur). Dr. Ajay V. Garg Eye Surgeon of Shivam Hospital, Ahmedabad
devoted his precious time. Also the operation detected for cataract and
Netramani implant was carried on at his hospital. The cost of operation is borne
by the branch. The beneficial patient has nothing to bear and he is given free
operation and follow up treatment. We have also arranged distribution of specs
at token charges to the patients as per their requirements as prescribed by the
doctor at the camp. The support was given by M/s Ajmera Opticals.The total
patients examined were 233, wherein operation netramani was done on 32. 106
specs were given at token rate.
South Extension,
Delhi South :
Branch organised a blood donation camp with the help of Red Cross Society on
16.03.2012 as a part of its yearly routine activity and was well attended by its
members. The camp got overwhelming response from Donors which included students,
residents, members etc. The Councillor of the area also participated and donated
blood. We were able to collect 322 units of blood surpassing last year figure of
306. The camp started at 9.00 A.M. and went beyond 5.00 PM as against scheduled
time. Interestingly, the participants wait for the next camp.

Karimganj, Assam
: A free
cataract detection and operation camp was organised on 3rd
January 2012 at Jain Upasana Mandir with technical assistance from Lion Eye
Hospital Silchar. The camp was attended by a team of Hospital Doctors. 137
patients were examined and medicines distributed free of cost. 29 patients were
selected for cataract operation (IOL) and the operation was done successfully at
Lion Eye Hospital on 4th
& 5th January
2012. The camp was sponsored by Jain Swetambar Terapanthy Sabha as a celebration
of 50th
birth
anniversary of Jain Acharya Mahasromonji.
Branch organized
artificial limb measurement & delivery camp on 5th
Feb.
2012 at Vivekananda College of Education where 59 patients were examined by Dr.
S.K. Nandi Purakayastha, renowned orthopedic surgeon & retired Principal Silchar
Medical College & Hospital. Dr. B.P. Panda, renowned physiotherapist, Dr. T.K.
Banik. Sri Bidyadhar Choudhary, Technician of Archana Vikalang Sahayata Kendra,
Guwahati attended the camp. 8 disabled, identified in the last camp, were fitted
with artificial limb, callipers, shoes etc. Moreover, a fresh 18 disabled
persons were identified for fitting of such limbs. The camp was sponsored by
Jain Swetambar Terapanthi Sabha as a mark of honour on the occasion of 50th
birth
anniversary of Jain Acharya Mahashramanji. Refreshments cost was borne by
Sadhuram Saha, the proprietor of Lakhmi Gyanada Bakery.
Agartala, Tripura
: East &
West branches organized and conducted the medical eye treatment cum spectacles
distribution camp at Lefunga (bhagaban Chowdhury Para) village about 21km. from
Agartala city on 01.12.2011. The Zonal Sanskar Secretary Smt. Jaba Dhar, Tripura
State Secretary Smt. Ranju Roy & social worker Smt. Rina Ghosh jointly conducted
the instant eye camp and most successfully organized the function in the
remotest S.T. Village area in Primary School premises. Smt. Ghosh collected all
required medicines for the purpose. The eye camp was mainly headed by the
renowned doctor and famous social worker Dr. Bijoy Deb Barman and the opthalmic
assistant was Smt. Sipra Biswas and other assistants were all the members of the
branches. 25 patients were referred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for
better treatment and spectacles were distributed to 20 patients.
Una, Himachal
Pradesh :
A mega medical camp at kotla baba Balji Ashram was inaugurated by babaji in the
presence of Vijay Chopra, Prop & Editor of Punjab Kasari news paper. About 300
patients were examined by a team of doctors led by Dr. Akshey Kumar Sharma
President. About Rs 10000 worth of medicines were given free of cost. Anil
Bhardwaj, Ashwani Kumar, Madan Puri, Ranbir Saini also helped in distributing
medicines to the patients. At the conclusion of the camp baba balji thanked the
branch for the free medical camp.

Delhi East :
Branch organised free eye check-up camp on 18th
Feb.
2012 at Mayur Vihar in which more than 300 persons got their eyes checked and
100 spectacles were also distributed to the needy people.
Bokaro Thermal,
Jharkhand :
Branch organised eye checkup camp for students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
Tenughat on 19th
Feb.
2012. The team was headed by Dr. R. Dwivedi eye specialist in DVC Hospital and
also the president of the branch. 188 students had gone through this checkup and
26 were found to have problems in their eyes. The camp was held under the
supervision of P.K. Ambastha, A.P. Mehta and Shri Bhagwan Yadav. Dr. D.K. Modi,
Principal of JNV appreciated the efforts of the Parishad.

Brahmapur, Odisha
: The All
India annual conference of Sri Thakur Nigamananda saraswati sangha was held at
kornali in ganjam district for 5 days from 26th
to 30th
December 2011. About 30000 devotees from different parts of the country attended
the conference. The conference mostly discussed vedic culture, sanatana dharma
values and spiritual values. The branch organised a free health checkup camp
with free ayurvedic medicines. Our branch members Dr. Hrushikesha Padhi, BAMS
(BU), M.A. and Dr. Kiran Kumar Panigrahi, BAMS (Ayu), managed the camps in which
about 695 devotees availed themselves of medical advice and free medicines.
Chandrasekharpur,
Bhubaneswar :
A drawing competition among students of VIII, IX and X of Kendriya Vidyalaya-3
was organised on 26th
November 2011. The topic was National flag hoisting on Mount Everest. 46
students participated. A health camp was organised for the students of Srihasha
Mishra Smriti Badhira and Dumb Vidyalaya at HIG 177 Kanan Vihar on 24.01.2012.
Dr. Tripathy, Dr. Padhi, and Dr. P. Satpathy examined the health of the students
and Sri Sanjay, pharmacist distributed the medicines.
Kankurgachi, West
Bengal :
A free eye testing camp was organized at Raichak morning Star Club at Tiarberia
Primary School, village Tiarberia, Paschim Medinipur on 20th
November 2011. About 720 patients attended of which operations were done for 93
persons. Spectacles were given to 509 persons and medicines to the rest donated
by S.L. Dokasnia, S.L. Kedia President and founder & past President T.C. Marda.
Free 12th
Handicapped equipment measurement camp was held on 4th
December 2011 organized at Khalna Vivekananda dishan Pally Unnyan Samity and
Chittabandhan. About 186 handicapped attended the camp for measurement. 13th
Handicap equipment free distribution camp was held on 8th January 2012 in memory
of Late Thakaarshi Das & Basanti Devi Bajaj, at new Haryana Bhawan at
Kankurgachia, Bara Park, Kolkata coorganised by the samity & chittabandhan. Tri
cycles, wheel chairs and artificial legs, hands, shoes, clutches and support
were distributed to among 100 needy handicaps. Shri Sanwarmal Bajaj inaugurated.

Dr. Kitchlu,
Ludhiana, Punjab North :
Undertook the
following programmes under health care during December 2011. Two more locations
have been added for the public service under the mobile clinic project. The
total number of beneficiaries were 1184 at all the six locations. Two free
medical camps were organized under the mobile clinic project. First camp was
held in Kehar Sigh colony on December 17, 2011 in which 110 patients registered
for the treatment. The second camp was held in Shri Dandi Swami Golok Godham, on
22nd
December in whcih the total beneficiaries were 50. The total number of visiting
patients was 1577, among which 107 were the new registrations in the Smt.
Sumitra Devi Aggarwal homoeopathy charitable dispensary. A total of 515 patients
visited the ayurvedic charitable dispensary.

On 26th
November branch organized a meeting for the eye donation project. The main
speaker was Sh. K.B. Mahajan Convenor eye donation. 14 members pledged to donate
eyes.
Vidyaranya,
Karnataka South :
Dental health education and check-up camp was organized on 20th
January 2012 for below poverty line school children of Sri Virupaksha Vidya
Samsthan, Hampinagar, through DAPM R.V. Dental College & Hospital. 150 students
of standard 1 to 7 attended free check up camp.
Bokaro Thermal,
Jharkhand :
Branch organized blood donation camp jointly with gairmajarua gramin branch on
the eve of Netaji Subhash Jayanti on 23.01.2012 at Station Club. The 8 member’s
team led by Dr. Mohanty and Dr. S.K. Sinha from Red Cross Society, B.S. Sity
collected 32units of blood. The programme was formally inaugurated by CE and
National convener (Vistar) Er. G.P. Singh assisted by State G.S. Er. P.K.
Ambastha. They addressed the audience explaining the contribution of Netaji and
importance of blood donation. Main donors were State G.S.P.K. Ambastha, branch
Pres. Dr. Dwivedi, Dr. S. Goswami, Dr. Nitish, Er. N.K. Chandel, Er Shashi
Shekhar, Er. D.K. Soni, Dr. Poddar, Shri R.K. Choudhary, K.P. Banerjee, B.N.

at Baba Bal's Ashram at Kotla in Una Distt. In this diagnostic camp which
started with blood sugar check up of Baba Balji, 100 patient's bloodsugar, blood
pressure and eye checkup was done. Baba Balji blessed & praised the activities.

Udhampur, Jammu
Kashmir :
Branch organised two camps for poor in the local Raj Palace community hall on 10th
and 11th
of
December 2011. On the first day 97 patients were examined by Dr. Indermohan
Sharma of Orthonova Hospital Amritsar. Doctors from K.D. Hospital examined
children under Muskan project. 397 patients were examined..
Dr. Kitchlu,
Ludhiana, Punjab North :
Under the health
care programmes branch undertook three permanent projects during November,
2011. Bihari Lal Aggarwal Charitable Mobile Clinic was re-launched on October
18, 2011 and it is being operated at four locations in Ludhiana, largely
inhabited by slum dwellers and poor families. The total number of beneficiaries
were 258. In Smt. Sumitra Devi Aggarwal Homoepathy Charitable Dispensary the
total number of visiting patients was 1600, among which 158 were the new
registrations. In Ayurvedic Charitable Dispensary a total of 485 patients
visited the dispensary.
Karimganj, Assam :
Branch observed world disabled day on 3rd
December 2011 at the branch premises sponsored by Brindaban Ray Memorial Trust,
Suprakandi Karimganj. Disabled persons of the locality were provided with
blankets. Branch organized an eye screening cum cataract operation (IOL) camp at
Karimganj Law College, on 8th
November 2011. A team of Doctors from Lions eye Hospital, Silchar examined the
patients. 24 patients were selected for operation who were operated at Lions eye
Hospital, Silchar. The camp was sponsored by Maharani Saree, Kolkata.

Tezpur, Assam : Branch organised a free
eye camp at Solagaon on 23rh
October in association with Sankardev Nethralaya,
Guwahati. 260 patients were examined & treated out of which 52 were detected of
cataract who were operated on 14th
& 16th
Nov. 2011 free of cost including trasportation
expenses. The BVP Netralaya hospital was inaugurated by Parishad's founder
president Tikam Ch. Khatri on the same day. The piece of land was donated to the
Parishad by Shri Jawahar Lal Dhadha in loving memory of his late wife Pushpa
Devi.
Kankurgachi, West Bengal : Branch
organised free handicapped limb measurement camp on 4th
September 2011 at Haryana Bhawan. 165 handicapped
were present. Free distribution of fruit, biscuits and sweets to 110 patiens of
SBS Marwary Hospital was done on 16th September 2011 which was donated by Arun
Kumar Patodia. S.L. Kedia, President, Mrs. Kabita and others were present. Free
handicapped distribution camp was organized. 300 persons including handicapped
were present. Swami Viroganandaji Maharaj of Ramkrishan Math, Yogodhyan, Mr.
Shyamal Sen Ex. Governor (Ex Judge) Inaugurated the camp. Speeches were given by
Swami ji, Ex Governor & other dignarities Sadhan Pandey Hon'ble Minister Sudip
Banerjee Hon'ble Minister of Govt. of West Bengal and Govt. of India by founder
& past President TC Marda and S.L. Kedia President. 18 tricycles, 2 wheel
chairs, 45 artificial legs, hands, 10 hearing aids were distributed. Free
distribution of lunch and dinner to 95 patients of SBS Marwary Hospital was
undertaken on 2nd
October 2011 donated by Anup Agarwal and S.L. Kedia.
Free eye testing camp was organized at Raichak Primary School on 9th October
2011. About 700 patients attended the camp out of which operations were done for
98 persons.
Sirhind, Punjab East : Branch held its
blood donation camp on 30th
October 2011 at Mai Ananti Dharamshala. 5 units
were donated to the civil hospital fatehgarh sahib. Parishad decided to hold
blood donation camp after every 3 months.
Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana, Punjab North :
A free camp for blood sugar check-up and diabetic treatment was organized in the
premises of BVP Viklang Sahayata Kendra on 17 October 2011. 81 persons attended
the camp and 18 reported high sugar. The tests were conducted through the
courtesy of M/s Bayer Zygus Pharma Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Meenu Kochhar, BAMS, Medical
Supdt., examined the patients and provided them the required medicines along
with some useful tips to overcome this disease. The services of Bihari Lal
Aggarwal BVP Mobile Clinic were launched at five sites in four different
localities in Ludhiana on 18 October 2011. The project is being run by Dr.
Kitchlu branch under the aegis of BVP Charitable Trust Punjab. The first clinic
is named as Janaki Dass Jain charitable dispensary. It is situated in the
premises of Dr. Ambedkar Vichaar Manch in Ambedkar Colony, Industrial area. This
moble clinic is sponsored by M/s Kangaroo Industries and was inaugurated by
Jainender Jain on 18 October 2011.The other four sites are two in Sandhu Nagar
and one each in Garewal Colony Sant Nagar and Chand Colony in Haibowal Khurd.
Shri Pawan Aggarwal, President, Seera Road Industrial Association and the
representative of Shri Bihari Lal Aggarwal family was very kind to announce the
major financial support for this project on behalf of his family. Sh. Rajesh
President, Dr. Ambedkar Vichaar Manch provided the facilities of his office
complex for the clinic and said that he will be ever willing to join this good
venture of BVP. Shri Yash Paul Gupta, National Secretary, Vanvasi Sahayata
Yojana gave his valuable guidance and blessings for the success of the project.
The function was presided over by Sh. Ashok Gupta, Prant Convener
(Environment).
B-Block, Janakpuri, Delhi South : After
motivation for eye donation the branch has so far collected 87 pledge forms.
Further the branch has embarked upon a solution in giving a well designed
certificate of appreciation duly framed to donors which, if hung at prominent
place in the house will serve as a reminder. A function was organized on
16.10.2011 to distribute these certificates. S.L. Batra, a well known Eye Bank
management expert and H.C. Gandhi incharge DDU Hospital addressed the gathering.
Bhubaneswar North, Odisha : Branch
organized a health camp at Hazipur of Jagatsinghpur district on 5th
November 2011. The village is very poor as it is
situated 25 kilometers from the district headquarter and the Chief Medial
Officer extended their helping hand by providing medicines, doctors and a
pharmacist. The camp was inaugurated by Rabinarayan Jena, Chairman of Biridi
Block. Doctors from different disciplines examined 152 patients and medicines
were distributed free of cost.
Pilani, Rajasthan North East : A health
awareness camp was organized on 9th
October 2011 at Birla Public School and Sewa Bharti
Centre. Hypertension, obesity diabetes, osteoporosis, asthma and COPD. Bone
mineral density, lung function and blood sugar tests were done free of cost. The
camp was supervised by Dr. R.P. Pareek, President of branch. Students of BITS
Pilani pursuing their MPH course volunteered their services under the leadership
of Dr. Santosh Gupta. The ayurveda specialist Dr. Ramesh P. Jaju explained the
importance of diet and yoga in the prevention of diseases. More than 125 persons
were examined in the camp. The Principal of BPS, Capt. in (IN) Alok Sen (Retd)
thanked Dr. Pareek and his team for their commendable work.

Delhi north :
Branch organised a seminar on Anaemia-Rakt ki Kami-in young girls due to
modren diet patron in the premises of S.D. Saraswati Bal Mandir. About 150 girls
of class 7th-12th
participated. Senior gynaecologist Dr. Vijaya Prabha delivered a talk for one
hour about the food intake and menstrual loss imbalance in the body and how they
slowly become anaemic. In the end children asked questions for half an hour.
Branch organised a seminar on prevention of cervical cancer in ladies and
prevention of disease- pneumonia prevalent in children. Ladies above the age of
30 years participated. Dr. Vijaya Prabha started with structure of the uterus,
Vaginal discharge cervical infections leading to cervical cancer, ITS prevention
through diet, yoga and pranayam. Sanyamita and simple life style and last
but not the least vaccination against cervical cancer. She discussed about the
prevalence of pneumonia among disease children death rate due to pneumonia in
India is much more than those due to malaria and typhoid. So comparing to the
other diseases Child should be vaccinated against pneumonia since the age of 6
weeks.

delhi south :
On 2nd
September the branch organised a talk on health by Dr. Ashok & Dr. Mangla. 68
members participated. On 9th
September a talk on health was delivered by Dr. Rajeev Sharma. On 14th
Sept.
a heart check-up camp was organized in coordination with Medanta-the Medicity
Gurgoan. The guests of honour were H.L. Malhotra eminent Industrialist & B.L.
Parasher National Secretary. 124 patients benefitted from this camp.
Malerkotla,
punjab EasT :
Branch ganized B Vaccination camp at village Badla. Team of Doctors from C.M.C.
& Hospital Ludhiana provided their services for Vaccination to 442 persons. Cost
of all 442 Injections was paid by Sardar Gurnam Singh Pandher and Sardarni
Charanjit Kaur Pandher, Vikas Rattan of BVP. A total of three Injections are
required for complete vaccination of hepetitis B. Second dose of the series was
provided on 11th
September 2011 and 3rd dose
will be provided after 6 months.
Dhuri :
Branch organized a homeopathic camp on 02.10.2011 at Shiv Mandir. Dr. Ramandeep
Kaur examined100 patients and gave free medicines to all. Raj Singla Advocate,
Ravinder Bansal and others visited the camp. In future these camps will be
arranged in slum areas also.
NIT, Faridabad,
haryana south :
Branch organised its first programe, a blood donation camp at santo ka
gurudwara. 40 units of blood was donated. Dinesh Raghuvanshi a renowed poet
graced the occasion along with Raj Kumar Aggarwal Prant General Secretary.
Silchar, ASSAM :
An Eye camp was held at Iringmara Tea Estate on 2nd August
11 .The management of Tea Estate sponsored the medicines, spectacles and lunch.
110 patients were examined by medical team from Silchar Lions Eye Hospital. 10
patients were screened for cataract operation. The branch thanked Silchar Lions
Hospital and Kedia, Managing Director, Iringmara Tea Estate for his generous
help. Cattle vaccination camp was organized at Rosekandy village on 27.07.11.153
cattle were immunized for FMD. De worming tablets were distributed amongst the
owners of the cattle. The medicine will be administered after a week. Branch
incurred an expenditure of Rs.4000/- for purchasing medicines. Dr. Manoranjan
Sircar and his three assistants administered vaccine to cattle.
Tezpur :
Branch opened an Ayurved Treatment Centre on 2nd October
2011 as their Permanent Sewa Project known as "Sewa Prakalp" located at Solagaon,Goroimari,in association with Kedarmal Memorial Ayurvedic Charitable
Hospital, Tezpur wherein the patients will be diagnosed and the medicines will
be distributed free of cost.

On 17th Sept
‘2011 Health Check-up Camp and free distribution of medicines was done at
Hirapur upgraded Primary School. Teachers, students and villagers were given
medicines. 5 Doctors and 5 members of the branch attended the camp and explained
about Hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation to them. Branch received full
co-operation from villagers and teachers. To maintain continuity of health camp
next camp will be arranged on 14th

: Branch organised blood donation camp on
15th Aug.Shri
A.N. Singhdeo, Hon’ble Minister, Planning, Co-ordination and Excise inaugurated
the Camp. CDMO, Dr. Moharana, Collector Puri Shri F.C. Satpathy were also
present during the camp. 24 Units were collected.

All the branches of Patiala Nagar with the help of Aman Deep Hospital, Amritsar
organised a free medical checkup camp in Raj Kamal Palace on 28th
August. Dr. Avtar
Singh, Dr. Prabhjot Singh, Dr. Ravi Mahajan and Dr. Prahlad Duggal with their
staff provided their services to the patients. The team of Doctors examined 250
patients and distributed the medicines to the patients. Selected patients,
required for surgery, were sent for free of cost operation to the Aman Deep
Hospital, Amritsar.
