Ninth All India National Sanskrit Group Song Competition: 2013-14 (Patiala)
 

Ninth All India National Sanskrit Group Song Competition 2013-14 was held on 1st and 2nd December, 2013 at Patiala The event was hosted by Punjab East Prant.

On 30th November, a Cultural Eve was organized. It was presided by Shri S.P. Tiwari, National Working President and was inaugurated by Shri Madan Mohan Mittal, Cabinet Minister, Govt. of Punjab. Shri Mittal highly appreciated the projects taken by Parishad. S. Hardyal Singh Mann, SSP Patiala and Shri Ranjan Gupta Member, Disciplinary Committee of Punjab & Haryana Bar Council gave blessings to the participants.  Sh. Nasir Ali, Vice-president Punjab East, compeered the programme. The main attraction of the eve was cultural items presented by different States and of course energetic Giddha & Bhangra Folk Dance of Punjab.

The opening session was presided over by  National President Justice (retired) Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje. The chief guest was S. Jaspal Singh, Vice-chancellor Punjabi University, Patiala. Shri Amarinder Singh Bajaj, Mayor Patiala inaugurated Folk Song Competition at Kala Bhawan. He was greatly impressed by the folk performances of participants from different states . Shri Harinder Gupta, State President Punjab East welcomed all and thanked the Centre Team for giving privilege of hosting this memorable event to the state. Sh. Surinder Bansal blessed the participants. The competitions were compeered by Sh.Amit Dogra, Smt. Amita Rishi and Smt. Manju Walia.

The closing session was presided over by  National Secretary General Shri Surinder Kumar Wadhwa,  who emphasized on the importance of Sanskrit language. Shri Jagdeep Sodhi, Member State Executive BJP and Shri Sunil Aggarwal, a social worker appreciated the programme. Smt. Sheema Joshi, State General Secretary Punjab East, on behalf of the state thanked Centre for their kind co-operation. A souvenir ‘ Swarnim 50 Varsh’ was released on this occasion. Shri Kanhaiya Lal Gupta, National Finance Secretary gave the Vote of Thanks.

Amongd the dignitaries who graced the occasion were – Shri Ajay Dutta (National Additional Secretary General Zone I-III), Shri Shubh Karan Jain (National Chairman NSGSC), Shri Kawal Sahni (National Secretary NSGSC), Shri Vinod Bhai H Shah  (National Vice-Chairman NSGSC), Shri Rakesh Sehgal (Zonal Secretary Zone-I), Shri S.C. (State Organising Secretary) and Shri Navdeep Gupta, Event Convenor).
