Titanium Prosthesis project
launched
Bharat Vikas Parishad Jana Seva Trust, Chennai: The Trust has
launched a project to provide Titanium Prosthesis to cancer afflicted
persons fee of cost. These prosthesis help in avoiding amputation of God
given limbs of the patient.

Dibrugarh, Assam :
Branch organized an artificial limb and caliper fitting in two phases, at the
municipality auditorium. In its first phase, a measurement camp was held on 28th
January 2012. 58 patients from the unprivileged
section of the society attended. 17 were selected for fitting of artificial
limbs etc. The help of a team of Doctors from Medical College, was sought to
deal with the patients who did not confirm to our advertisement. In the second
phase, a fitting camp for artificial limbs etc was organized on 25th Feb, 2012.
In this phase measurement for 7 new patients were also taken for fitting
artificial limbs and caliper. The branch is particularly thankful to the
trustees of the Shyamal Smriti Nyas with whose cooperation the camps were
a grand success.
Bokaro Thermal, Jharkhand :
Branch organized Viklang janch shivir at Station Club on 26.02.2012. The team of
experts from BVP Viklang Hospital Patna examined about 68 physically handicapped
persons and selected about 50 persons for providing 56 artificial limbs on
18.03.2012. The programme was formally inaugurated by Sh. Rabindra Pandey, MP.
Sh. Pandey was thrilled to witness the programme and announced to provide an
Ambulance to the branch from MP quota. Vikas Mitra mementos were presented to
five members.

Pune, Maharashtra-II
: Viklang
Punarvas Kendra run by BVP Pune organised four Jaipur Foot camps in which
hundreds of artificial limbs and calipers were donated free of cost to the
amputees. Work of prepairing Jaipur Foot has already been completed for
Ahmednagar, Satara and Jalgaon. In Ichalkaranjee the camp is scheduled on 25th Dec.
2011. In Jalgaon, more no. of needy amputees are on waiting list, therefore, one
more camp will be organized very soon. Pune Centre In - Charge Shri. Madhusudan
Deodhar is constantly working very hard for all these camps. Inspite of his age
(79 years) he takes tremendous pains only due to his selfless approach and will
to serve the society. In some complicated cases of Polio affected persons or
inborn deformities of legs and foot, special treatment and advice is given to
these patients. Repairs to the artificial limbs which were already provided are
also undertaken through Pune centre. In some of the camps co-operation of
Maheshwari Mahila Sangh and Rotary Club has also been received. In Pune some of
the big hospitals have approached our centre to seek our help and services for
distributions of Jaipur Foot to the needy amputees in their respective
hospitals. Now the target of our centre will be to make Pune District totally
Vikalang Free.
Bhayander,
Maharashtra (Coastal)-I :
On the occasion of Deepavali Parishad's branch handed over telephone booth to a
very needy Handicap person. Booth was inagurated by National President Shri R.P.
Sharma in the presence of Shri Surendra Vikal (Prantiya President), Shri Prakash
Jain (Prantiya Finance Secretary), local Nagarsevika Sandhya Praful Patil and
many other prominent members of the society. 35 members were present.

B-Block, Janakpuri, Delhi South :
The branch organised a mega sewa shivir on 18.09.2011 covering almost all the
categories of Handicap namely Physically handicapped, Mentally retarded, blind,
deaf, widows and destitute children. 105 beneficiaries were provided help
amounting to about Rs. 70000/- Shri I.D. Ojha, Dr. R.K. Thakur, Dr. Smt. Meena
Thakur, Shri B.L. Prasher, M.L. Arora and M.K. Wadhwa and others graced the
occasion. Physically Handicapped got artificial foot four, calipers seven,
tricycles with trunks fitted two, wheel chair one, elbow crutch one walkers
three. Blind :Pen drives, six braille watches, four, re writable DVDs, twenty
transistor radios, nine pencil cells, five pants and shirt fifteen. Mentally
retarded got Educational aids, sketch pens, paint boxes etc. Deaf twelve hearing
aids and miscellaneous four sewing machines,70 pairs of shoes, copies,
registers.
Maharashtra-II : Out of 14 Sewa kendras
operative nationwide, Viklang Sahayata kendra at Subhashnagar Pune is
functioning for the last 15 years regularly & thru various camps organized so
far. The fitments & repairs of Jaipur foot for amputees, callipers for polio
affected patients is being done by Shri Sanjay Pinglae who himself was benefited
on right side by Jaipur foot usage. The overall supervision is ably done by
Kendra incharge Madhusudan Deodhar. Recently, Deodhar alongwith Pingale attended
4 days (14-17 Sep 2011) workshop at Satara City organized by Maheshwari Mahila
Sangathan as Sewa Karya during their annual gathering. Out of 110 registered
beneficiaries, 53 Foot (37 Below Knee 16 Above Knee) & 23 Callipers (including
9 with shoe), 12 spot-repairs, 7 repairs at Pune & 8 special treatments have
been done, with only 7 refusals due to non-feasibility. Earlier also during
similar camp arranged by Rotary Club Ahmednagar Midtown 24 Jaipur foot & 3
callipers alongwith 7 repairs have been executed by Pune.

Patan, Gujarat North : Branch organized
a tricycle & wheel chair distribution programme on sthapana day on 10.07.2011 at
BVP office premises. 2 Tricycles, 1 wheel chair and 1 Godi were distributed
among the needy candidates. For this project, one tricycle & one ghudi were
received with the financial support from the family of Savitaben Mangubhai Patel
(Vijaybhai M. Patel) & for one wheel chair & one tricycle from Melabhai Hirabhai
Patel family. The Patels were highly impressed with Viklang Yojana Project &
promised to support the branch in future also. Branch President Rajesh Bhai
Parikh also announced that one tricycle will be given to needy handicap
candidate from their family in the next project on 15th August. Sanyojak Dr.
Rajeshbhai patel, President, Rajeshbhai Parikh & Secretary Jitu bhai Patel
worked hard for the success of this programme. Shri Ashwinbhai Parekh Vice
President of Prant provided necessary direction. Founder of Patan branch
Bhanubhai Soni also attended the function.

Bokaro Thermal, Jharkhand :
Branch organized Viklang Sahayata Shivir on 10.04.2011 at Station Club. A team
of experts from Sanjay Anand
Viklang Hospital, Patna arrived and examined about 95 physically handicapped
persons. About 80 persons were selected to be provided with artificial limbs on
8th May. The Chief Guest Er. J.K. Singh, C.E. & Project Head, D.V.C., B.T.P.S.
praised and said that the branch is really doing a splendid job of Seva &
Sanskar. A vote of thanks was proposed by the Secy Er. Rajeev Ranjan. Manch
Sanchalan was by N.P. Sinha.
Belgaum, Karnataka
North
: Branch arranaged a funtion to distribute tricycles under "Viklang
Sahayata Yojana". Shri Dilip Chitnis, Industrialist was the chief guest. The
beneficiaries were Kum. Sagar Dudagi, a student and Manohar Navagekar. Chief
guest praised the Sevakarya of the Parishad. Handicapped persons should not feel
themselves inferior to others, but they should work hard and make use of
tricycles in a best way. The Parishad is also discharging its duties in a very
systematic manner under other objectives for which I have got great respect, he
said. Principal V.N. Joshi, Zonal Chairman gave a brief report of the various
activities under this Yojana. 13 centres are setup which were doing Vikalang
Sahayata in a commendable manner, which is one of the main programme of this
NGO. Shri Dilip Chitnis, Chief guest honoured Principal J.G. Naik for being
promoted as Registrar of Rani Channamma University. Forthcoming president Sou.
Sukhad Deshpande gave brief report of the Dayitwa Grahana Samarabha. Viklang
Sahayata Yojana beneficiaries extended gratefulness to the Parishad for their
help. Sou. Neeta Kulkarni anchored the function very efficiently.

Greater Kailash-1, Delhi South : On
20.02.2011 the branch organized a free Viklang Sahayata & Punarvas camp
at Arya Samaj, GK-1 for distribution of Artificial limbs, 25 Hearing Aids, 11
Tricycles, 7 wheel chairs, 4 Bicycles, 1 orthopedic shoe, 50 sewing machines
(mainly to poor widows), 10 cataract operations, 4 spectacles, 10 steel buckets.
The expenditure on the entire camp was about Rs. 2.50 lakh which was donated by
several generous donors. Over 300 beneficiaries and guests were present in the
function which was graced by Shri Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Hon'ble Opposition
Leader, Delhi Vidhan Sabha, as Chief Guest. Other guests of honour included Dr.
Uma Tuli, Ex-Chief Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of India as
main speaker, Shri O.P. Sharda, Councillor, Yogesh Munjal, Industrialist and
Samaj Sewi, B.L. Parashar, National Secretary, and R.K. Taneja, President, Arya
Samaj.
Shri V.P. Agarwal, President of the branch,
in his welcome address, briefed the audience about the activities of BVP in
general and Viklang Sahayata & Punarvas shivir in particular. Smt.
Promila Grover, Treasurer, read out the names of donors.
Th Chief Guest, the main speaker and the
Councillor appreciated the excellent work of Sewa and Sanskar being done by the
selfless members of BVP and assured full support to the organization. Dr. Tuli
also mentioned about the organization 'Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust' by founded
her which too was doing the work of rehabilitating disabled persons in one way
or the other.
A few other events of the function were (a)
releasing a book written by Mansoor Abdullah on Shrimad Bhagwad Gita through the
hands of the chief guest and (b) branch's honouring with shawls & bouquet R.C.
Puri, Adviser and Smt. Promila Grover, Treasurer for their whole hearted
devotion to public service and enhancing the working standard of the branch in
all respects. The function was well organized and conducted by Vijay Gupta,
senior V. President, the convener of the camp and Ashu Kavi with
the spontaneously composed poetic style.
Alaknanda : 27th February 2011, was a
very special day for the branch when at the initiative of Smt. Shashi Azad,
Prantiya General Secretary, the distribution camp for the physically challenged
was held in Arya Samaj Mandir, GK-II. A.K. Tripathi, Principal of Balwantrai
Mehta School narrated his experiences. A skit was presented by the students of
Shishushala depicting BVP activities. Differently able students of BRM school
presented a mono acting. Bhakti Sangeet & Gazal were sung by Blind
beneficiaries. 6 Artificial legs, 9 wheel chairs, 11 Tricycles, 12 Walkers,
Vaishakhies, Elbow crèches, surgical shoes, 1 Water Mattress, 6 Sewing Machines,
3 Hearing Aids, etc. were distributed. The blind students, being supported by
the branch for several years in their education were given, 11 CD Players, 6
Walkmans, 100 blank Cassette for course lectures, 1 organ, 1 Harmonium, Tabla &
Dholak. A blind couple was provided with a LPG Gas connection. Scholarships of
2500/- each to differently able students of BRM school were provided at a total
cost of above Rs. 2.50 lakhs to beneficiaries crossing 80.
Vijayawada , A.P. East : Branch
distributed 58 artificial limbs to the needy on 27.02.2011. Shri Gaurav Uppal,
Joint Collector Krishna District was the chief guest. Shri Sridhar, CEO of Data
Management Centre, Nellore and Shri U.N. Yadgiri Chief Regional Manager, IOB
were the guests of honour. The entire programme was sponsored by SHR Charitable
Trust, Nellore. Nearly 150 persons including members attended the programme.
Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana, Punjab North :
In association with BVP Charitable Trust organized a Viklang Sahayata camp on
13.02.2011 at Viklang Sahayata Kendra, Ludhiana. On this occasion artificial
limbs/calippers were given to about 40 needy persons. Shri Ravinder Mittal,
President of the branch motivated them not to feel handicapped but become
mentally strong and try to make great achievements. The camp was sponsored by
Keea International Ludhiana, who had contributed Rs. 11,000/- for Viklang
Sahayata. Shri Raveesh Moudgil, from Keea International was the Guest of Honour.
Shri Yash Pal Gupta, National Secretary presided over the function. The function
was attended by more than 200 persons. Smt. Alka Mohan, was the compeer and Smt.
S. Sud presented vote of thanked.
Lucknow, Avadh Pradesh : Like every
year a Nihshulk Viklang Sahayata Shivir was organized on 24.03, to
27.03.2011, at community health centre at Mohanlalganj, Lucknow. In this shivir
about 570 Viklang got registered and given artificial limbs. Artificial hand; 12
artificial legs, 35 calipers, 56 shoes, 15 Blinds man, sticks 58, hearing aids
69, tricycles 85, wheel chairs 60 specs 50. Total 522, handicapped were
benefited in the camp. The equipments amounting to around Rs. 11 Lacs were
distributed. On 31.03.2011 a senior citizen health camp was organized by the
branch at Nidan Diagnostic Centre, at Gomti Nagar. The health check and
different tests were done in the camp for senior citizen members of the branch.

Mahabub Nagar, A.P.West : Branch
organised and celebrated successfully Swami Vivekananda Birthday & Limbs
distribution on 12.01.11 at Vivekananda statue near RTC bus stand. The Chief
Guest M. Purushotham Reddy Distt. Collector & MLA N. Rajeshwar Reddy & G.
Sudheer Babu Superintendent of Police graced the function. The programe was
presided over by President G. Panduranga. MLA N Rajeshwar Reddy advised to
inculcate the patriotism which is decreasing day by day. He also praised the BVP
organisation for doing social service to the physically challenged persons and
also adoption of remote village Eklaspur, Narayanpet mandal, in the District.
The dignitaries distributed the artificial limbs to 15 members. The total cost
of limbs was Rs. 2000/-. The program was covered by local news papers & TV

Phagwara, Punjab North : Branch
arranged a viklang sahayata project on 05.12.10. National Working President I.D.
Ojha, state president Vipin Dhingra National convenor Samuhik saral Vivah
Chander Mohan Sharma presented a wheel chair to a needy viklang Avtar Singh.
Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana : Branch in
association with BVP Charitable Trust organized V.S. camp on 14.11.10. 45 needy
persons were benefitted. The branch remitted Rs. 40,000/- towards Viklang
Sahayata to the Trust. The camp was sponsored by M/s Tushar Engineers, who also
contributed Rs. 11.000/- for this cause. Prizes for literacy drive were also
distributed. Under this permanent project first three prizes were won by Smt.
Harpreet Kaur, Tulsi Devi and Gurwinder Kaur. Smt. Kumud Chawla, was the chief
guest. Shri R.S. Tandon, senior superintendent Telegraphs (Retd.) was the guest
of honour. More than 200 persons attended the function.
Delhi East : On the request of
authorities at Rohini Jail BVP deputed its team to take measurement for
provision of artificial limbs and other appliances to the handicap inmates of
jail. Eleven such persons were provided this help in the presence of zonal
chairman Madan Malik, National Secretary Sampark Mahesh Sharma. Other
authorities present at jail were Ajay Bhatia Dy. Supdt. of jail Rohini and
welfare officer Jitendra Pathak and other concerned officers.
Karimganj, Assam : Branch observed
World Disabled Day on 3rd December 10. The Parishad handed over a wheel chair,
to a disabled person Manju Roy of village Betail, sponsored by Brindaban
Memorial Trust.
Paladi, Ahmadabad, Gujarat :
Branch arranged a Viklang camp at Idar on 05.12.10 in memory of late Kanchanben
K. Modi, mother of Nareshabhai K. Modi. 167 persons were the beneficiaries.
Collector of Sabarkantha Distt. President Idar Nagarpalika, Taluka Panchayat &
other local dignitaries were present.

Dharwad, Karnataka North : Both
Shalmala and Malaprabha branches jointly conducted a Viklang Sahayata
measurement camp in the auditorium of a school. Shri K.B. Navalgimath, famous
lawyer, was the Chief Guest. Shri Wilsonmailey Principal was guest of honour.
Shri D.B. Kotkar President BVP Shalmala, Shri. R.B. Dhoongade President
Malprabha presided over the function. A wide publicity of supply of free
artificial limbs by BVP was given in the city and neighbouring villages. 57
persons who had lost limbs of body attended and after examination 39 persons
were found eligible. Members of public were impressed by the humanitarian
consideration of BVP in rehabilitating the disabled to lead a better life, by
free supply of artificial limbs.

Khanna, Punjab North
: On 05.08.2010 branch organized Late Shri Shyam Lal Jain & Late Smt Satya Wati
Jain memorial free Viklang Sahayata camp at newly built building named Sewa
Kender Amloh road Khanna, for distribution of artificial limbs, Hearing Aids and
Tricycles. In this camp poor & needy patients from Khanna city and nearby
villages were given 39 artificial limbs, 18 Hearing Aids and 7 Tricycles free of
cost. The measurements for this camp were taken on 26.07.2010 which was hosted
by Shri Pankaj Jindal State Addl. Gen. Secy. This camp was organized with the
help of BVP Charitable Trust Ludhiana. Shri Abhinav Trikha Hon'ble S.D.M. Khanna
was the Chief Guest and Shri I.S. Channi President Municipal Council Khanna and
Shri Rajesh Dalli Chairman Improvement Trust were the guests of honour. Shri
Ramesh Jain a well known Industrialist was the special guest in this noble
cause. A free memorial homeopathic dispensary is also running successfully at

Ambabari
Jaipur, Rajasthan North-East : Swearing in
ceremony FY 2010-11 & Viklang Sahayata Shivir of Ambabari Branch was held on Sunday, 9th May 2010
at VKI Assn. Bhawan. Honb'le. Sh. Narpat Singh Ex-Cabinet Minister was the
Chief-Guest presided over by renowned industrialist Sh. Jagganath Sharma. 21
Artificial limbs and calipers and 4 tricylces were donated to the needy. It was
announced by Branch President Vikrant Agarwal that this project shall be
continued round the year. Secretary Pradeep Sharma gave the detailed account of
last year's historic achievements & new project of "JAL
SaNrakshan" which is being taken
up by the branch this year in the area. Among others the function was graced by
State President Sh. Somnath Handa & Sh. R.P. Gupta. A cultural programme
followed by dinner was also organized.

organised Viklang Sahayata Sivir on 01.04.2010 at station club B. T. P. S. The
programme was formally inagurated by the patron cum Dy Chief Engr Er P. L. Saha.
He was assisted by ZOC Er G. P. Singh, Pres. Sri Suman Kumar, Er A. P. Singh and
BHEL DGM Er S. K. Sinha. A team of 5 persons from Delhi Vikas Foundation led by
Sri R. S. Rathore conducted the test of 116 physically handicapped persons.
Alltogether 75 persons were selected for artificial limbs etc. 13 persons were
provided hearing aids the same day. On 03.04.2010 artificial limbs were
distributed by the Chief Patron cum Chief Engr and Project head DVC BTPS Er J.
K. Singh. In all 75 Viklangs were provided 93 appliances including 2 Wheel
Chairs, 2 Tricycles, 23 hearing aids, 24 scrutches, 18 calipers, 4 legs, 11
ortho shoes, 2 hand gloves and 1 stick. Others who spoke on the occasion were Er
Deepak Kumar and Er Rajeev Ranjan, Prantiya Gen Secy Er P. K. Ambastha. The
programme was conducted by the Jt Secy Smt. Rinky Prasad and others.

Rajasthan North :
Branch organized Fifth Viklang camp at Chopra Dharamshala on 07.03.2010 vide
which 34 Artificial limbs viz; legs, calipers, Crutches, Hand Stick, Walker,
Ortho Shoes etc. were provided so that they may be able to work smoothly and 8
Tricycle were distributed. Chief Guest Sh. Vikas Sharma Incharge Viklang
Rehabilitation center Hissar was present. The programme was presided over by
Prant President Sh. G.S. Sharma Patron Dr. K.L. Bansal Br. President G.R. Godara,
Treasurer Anil Jain and members R.K. Godara, LC Sharma, RM Goyal, HR Bhadu, and
other members were present on the occasion.
Poorvi Shakha
Lucknow, Avadh Pradesh :
Sewa Trust, organized "Nihshulk Viklang Sahayata Shivir, at Gosainganj, Lucknow
from 18.03.2010 to 21.03.2010. The Viklang from nearby districts also attended
the camp. The camp was organized with the cooperation of State Bank of India and
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation. There were 300 handicapped who were registered
in the camp. 20 Tricycles, 20 Calipers, 7 Wheel Chairs, 20 Hearing aids, 17
pairs of crutches, 15 Walking Sticks, Two Walkers and 57 spectacles were given
away to such identified persons.
The Regional Manager
of State Bank of India, Smt. Preeti Srivastava and Deputy General Manager of
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Shri Rajnish Mehta, gave away the equipments to
the beneficiaries. Both the dignitaries were overwhelmed with the efforts made
by Sewa Trust. They assured the Trust that their organizations will always
provide their cooperation in future also. They thanked the trust for associating
them in such a good deed.
The Secretary of the
Trust Brig. Tej Bahadur Srivastava in its report said that this is the 22nd camp
organized by the Trust and equipments amounting to 70 Lacs have since been
distributed till date. The President of the Trust Shri Virendra Singh Katiyar,
welcomed all the guests and Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, Convener of the programme
thanked all for giving Cooperation in organizing the camp.
Alaknanda, Delhi
South :
Measurement camp was arranged on 07.02.2010 in Dharmashala near Safdarjung
Hospital where staff of BVP Viklang Kendra took measurements of legs, hands and
number of handicapped persons reguiring wheel chairs & Tircycles. Distribution
camp was held on 14th Feb. 2010 in Arya Samaj Mandir G.K. II. Shri V.K. Rama
Bhadran retired from United Nations as advisor for population was the chief
guest.
Smt. Shashi Azad state convener & Smt Neelam Anand branch convener anchored the
programme. Smt. Pratibha Saigal presented skit by children of Shishushala G.K.II.
A sum of approx. Rs. 1.95 lacs was spent on the camp by the branch. Total
beneficiaries were 116.

branch organized a Viklang Sahayata & Punarvas camp on 17.01.2010. Artificial
limbs, supporting appliances etc. were given to 108 beneficiaries. These items
included 1 artificial leg/foot, 8 tri-cycles, 7 wheel chairs, polio calipers, 2
walkers, 1 baisakhi, 18 hearing aids, 10 cataract operations, 8 steel buckets, 2
steel tubs, 50 sewing machines and other miscellaneous articles. Besides, 100
woolen blankets were distributed to 100 poor & needy persons. All these
facilities involved a cost of about Rs. 2 lakhs which amount was collected by
way of donations received from the branch's esteemed members, other generous
donors and philanthropists.
The function was chaired by Padmashri
Dr. Shyam Singh 'Shashi' a well known author of over 100 books. Shri V.P.
Agarwal, President of the branch in his welcome address, described various
Sewa & Sanskar oriented projects undertaken during the year. Shri Vijay
Gupta, Sr. V. President convener and a known Hindi poet anchored the programme
with his usual couplets. In his key note address Dr. S.S. Shashi appreciated the
efforts made by BVP in ensuring preservation of Bhartiya culture as also
mitigating sufferings of under-privileged section of the society.
Shaheed Sukhdev, (Ludhiana) Punjab North :
Branch organized "Viklang Sahayata camp" on 31st January, 2010 at Shri
Sidheshwar Dham Mandir. 61 needy persons were provided artificial limbs, Walking
aids, tricycles, and hearing aids. Shri Virender Sahani, Director Miter Fastner
was the Chief Guest. National Secretary BVP Shri Ajay Dutta presided over the
function. Shri Gurdeep Singh Bhaini MLA Jagron, Sh. Amrik Singh, ex MLA, Shri.
Jassi Khungra MLA Raikot, Sh. S.C. Ralhan, Regional Chairman Engineering Export
Promotion Council, Shri Sushil Sharma, General Secretary BVP Punjab North, and
number of Sr. officials attended the function. On this occasion the branch also
introduced three new Vikas Mitras from Ludhiana and they were honoured by the
National Secretary Sh. Ajay Dutta. Shri Sidh Seva Mandal was the supporting
organization for the camp. Ashwani Goyal and Pradeep Rathi were the chief
coordinator of the camp with a dedicated team.
